  1. Really don't want to sign him long term. His body is going to break down big time I would imagine.
  2. I wonder how many swinging strike he has. Definitely weird to see the low Ks with such high velocity in the lower levels.
  3. Also hard to blame fans when they watch and Reyes make a ton of stupid mistakes at the worst of times. He's better than Goins obviously but he has to be one of the most frustrating players to watch with the lack of fundamentals and mental errors.
  4. I think playing Reyes in LF would be a disaster. Hanley Ramirez who is a much better hitter than Reyes is showing why you can't just stick an infielder in the OF.
  5. I don't think you want to mess with one of the best players. He's probably better than Reyes with Smoak at 1B catching his throws but still below average. He's one of the best 3B so I think you just keep him there and try to find a SS.
  6. Interesting that Sam Dyson has turned into a pretty good reliever for the Marlins. I remember someone saying at one time he had the best stuff in the org. which is still absurd considering the pitchers they had.
  7. And that is using UZR which was my point in the first place. Using DRS he would be much worse. He's already at -3 DRS this year in 160 innings.
  8. Well Zips has him at 1.9 WAR and Steamer for 1.7 so there ya go.
  9. Could the reason why Reyes always grades worse in DRS than UZR because UZR fails to take into account plays that are not balls hit off the bat, like Stolen base attempts and relay throws? Reyes seems to be one of the worst at tagging runners and dropped throws like the one in the last week. DRS has Reyes at -39 runs while UZR is -1 for his career.
  10. Umm no he's not. If he's barely an average hitter and his defense is horrific he is worse than average. If you were to look at his stats last year and use DRS instead of UZR Reyes is roughly a 2.4 Win player. Add in another year of decline and I wouldn't call that average.
  11. You know what GD, have I ever told you Reyes is a bad baseball player?
  12. thing about Reyes is he kills you defensively at SS but his bat doesn't play at all in LF and defense is still going to be an issue at 2B. I would just eat 10 million and trade him if you can. Next 2 years he is barely going to be above replacement level.
  13. Everyone loves to blame Loup but how bout the slow groundball that the sack of concrete Reyes couldn't convert the out on?
  14. Reyes is terrible. MAde that look really difficult.
  15. He's barely projected above average and his walk and strikeout numbers and have been in a steady decline.
  16. Reyes isn't even a league average hitter anymore. His contract is one of the worst in the majors.
  17. Reyes is such an undisciplined hitter. I've never seen a leadoff hitter with such a bad approach at the plate.
  18. One of the teams will get hot and win at least 88 games. Last few years coming into the season all we hear is the AL East is bleh and can be won with only 85 wins, yet 1 team always gets hot and wins 90+
  19. If Stroman can get healthy by September the would be playoff rotation would actually be pretty good. Stroman Hutch Trade Acquisition/Buehrle/Norris if he finds his command
