  1. Guessing Estrada won't even swing the bat considering his back.
  2. Is Marco Estrada batting? Why aren't thee DHs listed lol
  3. I give girls who know/understand sports bonus points. She seems pretty chill too which makes her a lot more attractive.
  4. If you are looking to trade him I'll gladly take him off your hands.
  5. What is it like playing with the dome closed? Is there any difference to the ball carrying better with it open/closed? I know there is a Coors effect but I wonder if they have other park effects in the game.
  6. Can we stop with this crap that Floyd only has "x" amount of pitches left in his arm. Its not like come May he's going to suddenly get hurt so we "should better start him now" instead of in the pen. You talk about maximizing value well then its a no brainer to start Sanchez. Floyd is a FA at the end of the season meanwhile Sanchez has 5 years of control. If Sanchez starts and shows he can be a #3/4 starter that has way more value to the Blue Jays than Floyd doing the same.
  7. Yeah more than likely.
  8. You would think the FO wants to see him face decent competition though since he's fighting for the 5th spot. (Insert Phillies joke)
  9. Why the hell is Floyd starting in a minor league game? Seems like Shapiro wants Floyd to start and a lot of the other FO and on field staff want Sanchez to start. There must have seem some agreement with the Floyd signing that he would have the 1st shot at the rotation.
  10. Looking for guys a little better than that, unfortunately.
  11. Getting 8 WAR from him for the next few seasons would be a huge success. Romero actually is a pretty good comp. Was bad throughout the minors and a High BB, high GB pitcher who struggles vs LHH.
  12. I don't think high 2s/low 3s BB/9 is unrealistic. Those numbers were more for what I think he could do in his peak seasons not this year.
  13. I think Sanchez's realistic upside is he could be a Keuchel of 2013/2014. Around 6.5 K/9 2.8 BB/9 and a 59% GB% 2013 7.2 K/9 3.05 BB/9 55.8 GB% 3.58 xFIP 2014 6.57 K/9 2.16 BB/9 63.5 GB% 3.20 xFIP
  14. Interesting comments by Dickey. Certainly won't be going to the White Sox next year lol. http://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/991052
  15. Those guys aren't even on the team flights, only the broadcasters. Barry and the writers fly commercial (which is much worse than flying with the team).
  16. I would love to do that job. Like John and Gov mentioned you get everything covered and even though you work tons of hours in the summer you get 2 or 3 months off. If you were good at your job unlike Barry and Hazel you wouldn't be a laughing stock among players either.
  17. I wonder how much they get paid. My guess is around 75k.
  18. He had a career year. His 2 years before that his whiff rate was worse than all 3 years with the jays. He's also lost some velo which at his age is expected.
  19. Even though ST stats should be taken with an extreme grain of salt I think its naive to say he hasn't improved. Only 3 walks in 20 innings is very encouraging and his mechanics look much better as well. He might not miss a whole lot of bats but he doesn't need to in order to be successful as a SP. With the extreme groundball rate all he has to do is limit the walks.
  20. With Smoak and Cola playing very well EE's injury isn't the end of the world.
  21. Mentioned it before but his contact rates have decreased the last few years, also the injuries are starting to pile up.
  22. Basically how I feel about the situation. Sanchez has so much more upside and has been the much better pitcher in ST so its not like he doesn't deserve it. If he falters you can throw him back in the pen and have no regrets. Its obvious the players want Sanchez starting too and it just sends a bad message if you don't reward him based on his performance.
  23. Well you could say that for everyone really. How about I expect Edwin to be worse than his projections?
  24. Funny thing is Jays ST games get a lot more viewers than the 2nd place Raptors regular season games. Since its an afternoon weekday game you might not get much more than 100,000 but you'd still think it would cover the production costs. Hell, Toronto FC gets like 50,000 viewers/game.
