    I think Mark Derosa would be a good hire. Having a blanket statement like the Manager must know Spanish is stupid. Take the best person for the job regardless. Hire another translator if you really want.

    So are the Jays getting insurance money from the Tulo contract? Normally big contracts are insured and if he doesn't play a single game you would think they would get financial relief.

    Is it unethical for him to get the league min. for 2007 when he was worth over 5 Wins? He was worth way more money than he received his first 9 years,not his fault the MLB system pays players when they are older.

    They should do it even if you are only getting 1 or 2 FA years so that he can open camp with the team and remove all the crap that's going to come along with the service time questions.

    I once saw Aaron Nola get tagged for 7ER against the Jays in ST then went on to have a breakout season. Doesn't mean s***.

    Teoscar xwOBA .371 xSLG .571 And its not like he's a Morales type who hits the ball hard on the ground and can't run. He's an above avg runner and who uses all fields so wouldn't have the shift penalty.

    Why are people assuming his value is low? His ERA sucks but peripherals are good and has been pitching well of late. His Value if anything is just going to go down because of less control.

    Well you get a better sense if he can be counted on to be in the rotation next season. Its not like SRF is a number 2 starter either he's more of a number 4 with potential to be a 3.

    If thats the team going into 2019 I'll be disappointed. Vladdy and Bo should be up by late April so at least that would be more exciting. May as well trade Smoak for whatever you can get instead of him just playing out 2019 if you go into the year with a 75 win team.

    If he can learn to play defense he's a fine everyday player. He's got the tools to do so (plus speed and plus arm) but seems to have a pretty low baseball IQ (terrible decision making) so not sure he'll every make it there. At this point I think you throw him out there everyday and try to develop him and hopefully he can turn into a 3 Win player. Not like the Jays really have any better options at the moment.

    Yeah.. I didn't say I liked the Drury trade, I'm saying if you think the best shot to compete is 3 years from now Drury is an impending FA so that doesn't make much sense. I would have rather they acquired a high ceiling player with a larger chance of impact. I don't see much of a difference in Drury compared to the likes of Gurriel, Diaz etc..

    Yeah Ownership is a pretty big wildcard in all this. I give a lot of credit to Shapiro who has to put up with them. For the RC renovations basically my understanding is the plans are all set but ownership hasn't wanted to commit to a plan yet because of the $ involved. I can only imagine how they want a winner fast.
