  1. Now that Thibs is in MIN there really aren't many good HC on the market.
  2. There really isn't anyone else besides Pillar who would be a good leadoff hitter for when Saunders gets days off vs Lefties. Maybe Martin or Tulo but they've been terrible so far and you aren't going to move them to leadoff just for a random game.
  3. if he can stay healthy he looks like a number 3 starter.
  4. Saunders has been great leading off, no need to switch it up when Travis gets back. Let him hit 7th or 8th when he comes back. Buck seems to go out of his way on the air to mention how he thinks the Jays should have Pillar lead off again and drop Saunders in a "run producing" part of the lineup to provide "protection" to the middle of the order. Him saying this drives me crazy.
  5. Girado vs 2 consecutive LHB or Sanchez who struggles with LHH the 4th time through the order after just walking the number 9 hitter. Thats a no brainer...
  6. I still hated his managing tonight. Left Sanchez in to face Odor and Mazara for 4th time through the order and luckily they both had hart hits at fielders. I know the bullpen hasn't been great but he's still leaving SP in way too long. I think part of the reason the relievers have given up so many inherited runners is because Gibby rides the starter into the 7th and takes them out after they give up a baserunner instead of letting the reliever start the inning fresh.
  7. Yeah I agree. Even if he strikes out around 7 per 9 he is a number 3 starter at his current walk and groundball rates.
  8. Got a few strikeouts with it so you can't say it was completely horrible. Beltre took an inside 2 seamer to the OF but hardly anyone in MLB can do that.
  9. Anyone else notice flyballs don't seem to be carrying as much this year? There were a few balls hit tonight where I thought they would be close to going out yet stayed up for easy flyouts and it seems like theres been a few nights like this.
  10. Tonight was one of the worst strikezone I ever saw. Umpire was just awful. Didn't call strikes like 3 inches below the top of the zone and called some horrible off the plate balls for strikes including the Bautista one 3 inches down and away.
  11. Couple of 4 seam fastballs there.
  12. ump isn't giving the pitcher the call if he misses his spot.
  13. might want to throw a curveball or changeup...
  14. Shame Smoak is driving up Lewis pitch count.
  15. Edwin missed a couple meatballs that AB
  16. At least Colby Lewis is pitching. Saunders should bunt and get him all pissed off.
  17. high and inside sort of is. Could be setting up the curve after throwing offspeed the pitch before.
