I read that the reason they do the Sunday is to get everyone in the stadium early at 11 and then they sell a crap ton more in Concession $$ than what they would gain in ticket sales for a weekday.
Weekends sell a ton better than weekdays since so many Jays fans are outside the city and come from cities within a 2 hour drive. Lot easier to go from Oshawa or London for a weekend 1PM game than during the week.
More like what happens when Andrew Miller was brought in and Brooks was fired. They left money on the table with the old pricing structure and are trying to recuperate it now. Prices for flexpacks will go up as well based on demand.
Still ways to get around it though. 20 game flexpack seems the way to go if you split it with someone else.
35K is actually pretty high for how many seats they had sold going into the day. Although thats paid attendance as it looked like a few thousand didn't show.
Wednesday's game might be pretty low given the 1230 start but I think every game sells out after that.
Go to the computers and log into your stubhub account then print. It costs around 3 bucks I think but you save way more than that by buying them off there. And if you go to Union its on the way to the Dome.
Guy sitting behind me at the game yesterday was the single worst fan I have ever heard. Yelled at Gibbons for "bad coaching", called the umpire a "ref" and was chirping bautista for hitting around .200.
Even had the Jays won yesterday it really wouldn't have effected much. There is just far too much supply. Weekday games in September have always been a tough draw even for competitive teams because school has started for the kids.
