  1. I believe Edwin was around 3 WAR and Jose 4 but don't quote me on that.
  2. Bautista actually has a pretty good projection, 2.9 WAR in 138 games. Compare that to Edwin who is projected for 2.3 WAR in 146 games. Given how much money and term each will likely get I think I'd be much more inclined to sign Jose.
  3. Lol doubt it. He was removed for defense late in the game many times and didn't say a word.
  4. Napoli is even worse than Morales. He'd be a terrible fit for the lineup and given how much money he will get I don't want any part.
  5. Smells like a PR move to make it looked like they tried their best to sign EE.
  6. Can't forget Maddon burned Chapman the night before for almost 3 innings. I think that had a lot to do with not being effective in game 7.
  7. Why would you want to downgrade the team so much by trading Martin and singing Castro? Martin makes a pretty big difference behind the plate with his game calling as we saw Grilli and Liriano go from crap to above average pitchers with the switch.
  8. I'd give him a million bucks if he's recovered from that injury last year. He had one of the highest whiff rates on the team.
  9. I'd give him 1 or 2 Million to come back depending on his Lat injury. He's a good middle reliever and can provide some depth in the rotation.
  10. Problem is I don't think Cespedes sings for 100 or JB for 17.
  11. Agree. As a DH I think he can be good value. His swing metrics have shown no decline, even swining at less pitches out of the zone than before. The question is do you think the power went down because of the injuries he had or simply age. 3/50 would be a great deal I think.
  12. Didn't mean it to be directed entirely at you but more so in general fans seem to be personally offended when a player seeks a certain number and term, which I think is ridiculous. Any player is going to seek more money than they are looking to get. If Edwin came out and said I'm looking for 4/80 some team would use that as leverage to sign him quickly at that price.
  13. Edwin is gone anyway. If the FO didn't want to sign him for more than 2 years in the spring they sure as hell aren't going to give him 4/80 now.
  14. Why do people get so butthurt by players wanting a certain contract? Anyone can try to get any deal they want, no need to talk s*** about him because of that. Same thing happened with Jose.. If any player came out and said they wanted "X" amount, it doesn't chance the way I feel about that player as a fan. Hell I want the players to get paid as much as possible, otherwise the Owners just pocked the money, they're the real crooks.
  15. He's missed 19 games over 4 seasons... Thats about as good as you can get get so absolutely you can expect him to play 155 again. Not saying better depth is a bad thing but Coghlan is terrible defensively so good chance he's under replacement level at 3rd.
  16. Isn't he terrible in the infield, like borderline unplayable at 2nd and 3rd? With Donaldson you don't really need a backup 3rd baseman anyway.
  17. lol apparently tons of people in Tampa think he's Ben Bishop.
  18. They basically need to overhaul the entire arbitration system for them to go back to the previous system. Stop rewarding players for wins, saves, HR, RBI etc and you will have a system the pays players a better reflection of their value. Because on the open market teams aren't paying those players for those numbers so why should arbitration reward them for it? I think a better system would be just to remove the pick compensation entirely. Its mostly the big market teams who let go of players getting a QO so really you are just creating a larger disadvantage for small market franchises. If they are insistent on keeping the QO system than just have the team who signs the player give up nothing and based upon the value of the contract give the team losing the player a pick from rounds 2-5.
  19. it was a b2b but that still shouldn't happen.
  20. Thats insane. It'd be like almost the entire GTA going downtown.
  21. Probably because his ERA was over 4 or something.
  22. I could see Boston throwing 125 million at him. DD might do what he did last year and just throw a huge offer right out of the gate.
  23. I don't think the Blue Jays will be shelling out almost 400 Million in contracts this offseason.
  24. No way the Cubs trade Schwarber unless your giving up Sanchez/Stroman + Alford and maybe SRF. Just won't be worth it considering it'll be an overpay to get him
  25. For all of the people saying EE are you spending 100 Million to bring him back? I'd much rather get the pick and sign someone like Holiday or Beltran for a quarter of the price.
