  1. Although I would hope he's used more than just a platoon partner for Smoak lol. He's likely better than Smoak vs RHP.
  2. nice. If they sign him, I can live with the Morales deal.
  3. Have my season tickets.
  4. The more I think about the more I'd like to see them Saunders. Apparently he was banged up the 2nd half of the season so I think the major drop off in performance was injury related. LH bat that can be a 110-125 wRC+ and should cost less than 25 Million. If he can play some 1B/LF and DH he compliments the current team well.
  5. Derozan's numbers are crazy. Averaging 34 PPG and only shooting 16% from 3(only made 2 Threes all year). Most insane thing is he's shotting 64% from 10-16 feet and 51% from 16 feet-3 point line. He's being really efficient taking the most inefficient shots you can take lol. Not sure how sustainable it is but its really fun.
  6. Thats a young Izturis, not the Iztruis the Jays had at the end of his career. If Gurriel puts up 10 WAR over the course of his career that is a steal of a contract.
  7. I think Donaldson is a big fan of him IIRC.
  8. Meh, I'm not so sure. Look at the DH numbers last year http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=dh&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0 Morales was dead last and
  9. Like why not sign Steve Pearce for similar money? He's a better hitter and has way more positional flexibility.
  10. With 1-1.5 Win players you shouldn't be paying close to market value for a Win since below average players are easy to find. So Even if he puts up 4 WAR over 3 years I think thats still a bad signing.
  11. Gurriel's best outcome is what Jose Ramierez? Likely could be something close to Macier Izturis?
  12. Last 3 years he's been worth 0.8 WAR combined. Projected to be worth barely past half a win with a 109 wRC+, which is bad for a DH. I don't want to sign Edwin for over 75 Million but that doesn't mean sign a bad player for 30 Million.
  13. Ugh don't like that.
  14. He is not good and is a DH only. Like a better version of Justin Smoak who will cost more.
  15. I wouldn't include draft picks in the mix, you could say the same for every team. Still, impressed with the other moves. I've hated 2 moves the new regime has made: the Chavez trade and the Smoak deal. Hated them at the time and they look even worse now. But they have more than made up with it with a bunch of other savvy moves like the Liriano, Happ, Estrada, Grilli, and Gurriel acquisitions.
  16. Morales would be a terrible fit.
  17. Teams seem to put too much stock into what's happened recently I think. We see it with FA as well. Just because a player has 1 bad or 1 good season doesn't mean their talent level has fell or jumped dramatically. He still has the same tools he did a couple of years ago when the reports were a lot better.
  18. Also allows a little more flexibility. Say what you want about Bautista's defense but he could still play RF or LF for 20 games. EE your stuck with at 1B or DH.
  19. I like the reports on the tools though. With all the effort the FO is putting into player development, there is a good chance his career turns out better as a Blue Jay than it would be if he played on 15 different clubs.
  20. FG lead prospect writer has a much less glowing report on him. Compares him to Jace Peterson.
  21. thats what I thought was the case. Thanks.
  22. So does the 7 year 22 M contract mean he gets just over 3 per season or does he still get arbitration for the final 3 years and the 22 Million is more of a signing bonus?
  23. Decent OBP not much power. I think I read he's more of a utility player than an everyday player but for only 3 million/season thats fine.
  24. 7 Years. For 3 million/ season seems like a decent super utility guy. Not a ton of risk and decent upside. I like it.
  25. Reddick + Bautista + cash> Reddick + EE
