  1. He made it but I still hate that shot.
  2. Thought he said "plus plus". My mistake.
  3. I don't think I would sign anyone to a 3 year deal but definitely the 1 year contracts like Hill signing last year. Seems like they can get pitchers to come there given their ballpark so I'd check in on the guys like Cashner who want to re-establish their value.
  4. Yeah but then after they win 75-80 games you are stuck with Edwin's bad years so I don't see the point in that. They've basically done that exact thing for 2 years now and the franchise's outlook doesn't look any better than it did. Its time to tear it down and rebuild. In the market I'm not sure the fan support is going to be all that better with a low 80s win team compared to a 70s win team. I think they are way better off in investing that $ in sports science, player development, FO executives than to make the team go from 72 to 78 wins.
  5. Kind of basketball related but this is crazy. If you saw Fallon the other night you may have already seen the same trick but this is one is crazier. http://www.thescore.com/nba/news/1156637?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  6. Is it weird the Blue Jays haven't made the Morales signing official? Its been 5 days now and they announce the Gurriel signing Monday when they the reports came out hours after each other. Maybe something came up in the physical?
  7. He's been pretty bad overall. Shows nice hands and instincts but he definitely needs to add strength to become a better defender and rebounder. Almost all rookies are bad so its nothing to worry about. Bebe has certainly outplayed him.
  8. Where have you seen his curveball being a 70 pitch?
  9. For sure. 61% TS percentage. Its a shame Carrol is hurt because if he was healthy or they had someone else productive at that cap hit they'd have a really really good team. Masai has done a great job of having a very good team while stockpiling young productive players who make basically nothing.
  10. Why would they do that? They're in the middle of a rebuild. If I'm them I'm using that money towards player development where your ROI is wayy higher. Or take on a bad contract for a comp. balance pick/prosect. If an international draft gets put in for next year you actually want to lose more too. Huge advantage to having the top few picks.
  11. So weird to say but I think T Ross actually has value at that contract.
  12. Exciting game. Refs were crap but at least its only regular season.
  13. You can tell how raw he is. He's improved a ton from last year though so I am hopeful for his future.
  14. Love Patterson but he's killed the team this year missing so many wide open 3s
  15. Would be 3-5 tonight if it counted... An extra few 3s and that % goes way up.
  16. Mr. Analytics
  17. Derozan must lead the league in jumpshots with a foot on the 3point line.
  18. Morales isn't really a FB hitter though. 76th out 146 so he's even below the median. And with Donaldson presumably hitting in front of him, he's going to hit into a lot of DPs.
  19. I like the FO but I still disagree with their moves. Hated the Chavez trade, Smoak signing and don't like the Morales signing.
  20. In NY he was actually a positive defender so maybe they feel the bad defense in Cincy was a positioning issue. If you can get the hitter he was in Cincy and the defender he was in NY, thats a 3.5-4 Win player. Thats a lot of what ifs though lol. Can't believe I just talked myself into Jay Bruce.
  21. I agree with the first part. With how often guys get hurt why waste valuable innings in the minors when they can pitch in the minors? That being said I don't think you move Greene or SRF to the pen because of the reasons you mentioned. Those guys still can improve a lot unlike Osuna who was very polished.
  22. Yeah I know a few people who played in the league and it was crazy expensive. Even if you are able to get a scholarship it doesn't make it really worth it. Meanwhile basketball players barely pay anything and the good ones even get scholarships for Prep School.
  23. In order to play Travel baseball these days you have to be pretty well off. Its like almost 10K when you consider everything.
  24. Yeah I was thinking of that too. Although if the Jays got on SNB I think it'd be pretty cool. Think we'll leave Thursday night since its risky getting there for an afternoon game the same day. Especially if you fly since O'Hare always has delays.
  25. He was dealing with the hamstring injury for most of the year and it became worse in the 2nd half. I don't think he collapses as a hitter if he's healthy.
