  1. Maybe back 40 years ago but now with video you can literally see what any pitcher throws before you face them.
  2. I think the FO would certainly listen. If there are say 3 team between the Jays and the 2nd place wildcard then a 4 Game lead is quite a bit. Obviously a bunch of factors go into it like injuries up until that point and what teams are offering in return but trading JD makes sense if you aren't going to sign him long term.
  3. I think we are starting to see it with trades. More teams are reluctant to trade their top position player prospects but seem not to concerned with the pitching prospects. WSH kept Robbles and out of the big trades the White Sox made 4 of the best 5 prospects were pitchers. The Cubs and Astros paved the way by targeting position players.
  4. I'd rather just sign Bautista for a little bit more money and keep Vlad.
  5. I doubt Tulo gets shopped, he's got a full NTC and I think he'd be one of the last guys to be traded if they're out of it. I think they sell if they're more than 3 GB of the wildcard. Lots of pieces would be moved. Estrada, Happ, Liriano, Grilli, Upton, Pearce, Donaldson would likely all be moved.
  6. If the Blue Jays are out of it and selling everyone off then he probably wouldn't mind going to a contender either. Other scenario is the Blue Jays are good and he helps the team try to get to the playoffs.
  7. Also good chance you could trade him for more than what the draft picks is worth if he has a decent first half.
  8. Attendance usually doesn't show up until the season after. Even when the Jays did really well in the first half of 2014 fans were no where to be found.
  9. I think Sullinger is so overrated. I keep hearing how good of an addition he will be but he's a fat undersized C who's good at rebounding and nothing else.
  10. Didn't watch any of the game. How did Bebe play at the 4 with JV?
  11. How is it wrong to go watch the greatest basketball player and a championship team?
  12. I'd say he's better, certainly fits the team better. Worth the extra $4.5 Million it would cost all be it Smoak's money is spread over 2 years.
  13. Oh yeah I wasn't saying I wish the Jays still had Hutch. Liriano+ the 2 prospects are worth way more.
  14. If the Jays still had Hutch the Royals might have made that trade. Good Karns comparable.
  15. If the Mets took on Smoak for Bruce I'd be happy to make that trade.
  16. Probably not since Karns has more control.
  17. last question was even more cringeworthy.
  18. I thought that isn't for another few weeks and Carrera wasn't even one of the players listed lol.
  19. Not sure why he's obvious. He can play 3rd but with Donaldson its a waste. You aren't going to sign him to be a platoon 1st baseman especially when he isn't even projected to be an average hitter. Jays need 2 outfielders.
  20. Chatwood is decent. Maybe Hoffman turns around too.
  21. Adam Silver best commish by far. http://www.thescore.com/nba/news/1201644?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  22. I disagree. If you can trade a SP for a OF who is better I'd do it in a second. There's still risk that the SP you trade is one of the guys that would get hurt. I'd much rather have a Gavin Floyd/Mike Bolsinger make 5-10 starts over the course of the season than have the current 5 SP + 2 of Upton/Carrera/Smoak getting everyday ABs.
