  1. Hutch definitely not on, 4 runs already is pretty shoddy. Thank goodness for our firepower.
  2. Settle down Hutch you had a 5 run lead, no need for a meltdown.
  3. Devo smoked it but Snider really misread it, not egregious but definitely looked bad for T Snides..
  4. Yup signing Martin then was the play, I truly don't know what pills AA was hopped up on or what kind of dirt JPA had over on him then. We can only hope those ridiculous moves and shoddy evaluating turned him into the seasoned GM he's appearing to be this off season and like you said it's all coming full circle. It's only 3 games in with him but just seeing the immediate difference in framing, defence, and gunning runners out has made me giddy as hell. Having a competent backstop can't be quantified enough for how integral it is to your overall team success (Calling games, building pitching staff confidence, defensively for the entire infield, etc.)
  5. True and that 82M is a bit of an overpay but when it comes down to it I'd probably still rather have Martin catching over the next 2-3yrs during our prime window. He's more experienced, better defensively, and has proven to be durable (where it's more of an unknown with D'Arnaud). I couldn't agree more, I don't have a clue what AA was thinking during this period. I hated the Rogers trade from day 1. I forgot about the comp pick (not sure if it was Smoral or not) and you're right that's probably exactly what AA was focused on with that trade.
  6. The Dickey trade wasn't good but it wasn't crippling and it served the win now mode we were in then. We're set at C currently to offset the loss of D'Arnaud and we're stocked with young SP's to offset Syngaard as those two wouldn't have been ready to contribute until this year anyways. As mentioned previously in the thread Dickey's provided some value for us with his 200+ innings every year plus he's a veteran presence on the staff now for the young guns. Trading Yan Gomes/Mike Aviles for Esmil Rogers and Mike Napoli for Frank Fransisco were downright disgusting moves, totally vomit worthy. Rogers and Fransisco put up s***** numbers out of the pen and aren't even on the Jays anymore while Gomes and Napoli, well we know how that's worked out.. It also would have spelled seeing less of JPA & Navarro at C plus provided the infield depth we've needed over the last few seasons with Aviles. Ah well can't cry over spilled milk, at least things are looking bright moving forward this year.
  7. He could turn a corner and become legit, might be a great trade for both teams.
  8. Great problem to have when Saunders comes back, Pillar looks like a starter! Plus with the Condors injury history it's a great insurance chip.
  9. A Buerhle hit parade always just around the corner unfortunately.
  10. Gonna need a few more runs to breathe easy if Buehrle has one of those days.
