  1. Argo games draw 20k?
  2. I'm not saying the Jays are winning the WS or anything but landing in the cellar is laughable to me. Rant on though, I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy a good rant every now and then.
  3. That statement I made represents how much faith I have in the Jays not ending up cellar dwellers this year. Mathematically of course there is a chance but I mean c'mon, I guess you were rubbing off on me and I was being a little over the top too. If you believe it so much you should drop some dough, I'm sure you'd get great odds from Vegas and you could hedge your bet with a 4th place finish too to still land some profit..
  4. Lol are you really this angry or was there a bit of humor/sarcasm I'm missing in there somewhere? There's definitely a bit of truth in your fanboy diatribe regarding AA and ownership around here with the sacred defenders of the forum but you really went over the top apeshit Jack Nicholson style with this post. As ridiculously frustrating as Rogers can be handling this team, and as embarrassing as it is to see AA be the full of s*** dancing monkey for them in front of the media at times there is ZERO possibility we're finishing in last place. Like I said maybe my sarcasm detector is broken but you couldn't have been serious?? In fact you really gotta feel for AA, I mean the guy's been doing the best he can this off season with what he's been given to work with.
  5. If Navarro is hanging around that scenario plays well to get him enough action in conjunction with his backup catching starts. It's dependant on Martin catching Dickey of course and Edwin's back issues but I think that's a decent suggestion.
  6. Plus he's earned first crack at closer if healthy imo, he's got the tenure and put his time in to go along with the solid numbers he's put up over the last few years. The last thing we want to do is undermine Cecil's confidence by making Sanchez the closer when he's more of a crapshoot in that role.
  7. Nice way to climb out of the dumpster, hopefully this is the start of something good.
  8. It's a start..
  9. How did Smoak do today, did he finally get a hit? I'm not even being sarcastic, I missed the game.
  10. Estrada at the RC could be (in Larry David voice) pa-ritty scary.
  11. I didn't know that, to be honest I haven't followed Barton that closely but that definitely creates a bit more intrigue to this current situation. I really hope Smoak pulls it out and can be effective, hopefully that FB% will come into effect at the RC. I mean that would be the ideal scenario as opposed to him continually playing like ass (sorry politically correct forum nazi's but yes he has been hot garb thus far.. even in a sss). Who knows maybe they're just tinkering with his swing so he gets a pass this ST due to it being a controlled experiment, or maybe not and he really just is that bad. Either way it's going to be really interesting to see how it all shakes out at 1B this year.
  12. Good point, I probably should have changed it to dumpster fire.
  13. Nice Spanky, is there also a large sample size song that features the Smoak Dog?
  14. Hard to argue that as long as his glove isn't a liability there. It's really going to be interesting to see how this all shakes out at 1B- Smoak's future, Edwin's back, potential Navarro trade, DB/DV platoon.
  15. Yeah guys Barton could definitely be interesting, he takes a lot of walks to get on base apparently. He's a lefty too so he could platoon well with Valencia but I'm not sure how well DV's fielding is at 1B.
  16. That's it and if he keeps dragging for the first month and beyond (because he's got the 1M MLB contract for an extended view) how much leeway do you give him before it's a huge detriment? It's a legitimate question, if he can't get his s*** together and EE's back isn't up for fielding on the regular what is the foreseeable plan after that?
  17. For sure but I mean can you really compare those two to Smoak. I know it's a sss and spring training, etc. but I'm honestly wondering what the contingency plan is. I was hoping to muse that over and also I'm bored as hell right now, I'm not gonna lie
  18. ?? Smoak is being cut in this scenario.
  19. Yeah I mean if his current play is foreshadowing things to come you'd have to think AA has a contingency plan.
  20. It's a hypothetical question, I wasn't looking for scientific reasoning.
  21. I wonder what the plan will be now at 1B if he doesn't make the cut considering Edwin's wonky back. Thoughts?
