  1. Paps, that's easy. But that's without considering what he would cost vs. Soriano.
  2. CC only has a single and a double in two at bats. Any decent manager would have found a way to put in a player who would have had two homeruns. Fire this clown!!!!
  3. That play against KC was a poor pick by Eddy just as much as a poor throw by Reyes. Though Reyes deserves more of the blame as a proper throw ends the game, but similar to the throw against Minny it wouldn't have been an error had a different 1B been on the field.
  4. Very curious to see what sort of contract he gets. Would have to think it's around 2.5 million for the rest of the season (As in roughly a 4 million contract prorated)
  5. J4L, thanks for getting back to me. HERPDERP - they're yours if you can use em. Send me a PM with your email and I can send them to you.
  6. No skin off my back, I'd rather they get used and may as well offer them to true fans. I'll let you know if J4L uses them
  7. No, I just PDF the tickets from my account and I can send them to you.....print them off and you can get in.
  8. This Sunday after the game at the Rogers Center the Jays will be hosting their annual "autograph night" for season ticket holders. Every player on the 25 man is typically signing autographs - they set up six tables of two players each on the field.....typically they have 12 players at a time on the field and two autograph sessions......each session being one hour. The more popular players will have bigger lineups, so you can wait 30 minutes to get certain players (Lawrie's line used to be insane) but it's a good way to get your jersey signed or something else from the player(s) you care about most. You can easily get half the clubs signature depending on how quickly the lines are moving and who you target. It starts at 5pm this Sunday. You do not need to go to the game to attend - gates will reopen after the game. I have 2 tickets that I won't be able to use. If you want them let me know. Obviously please respond only if you know you can use them.
  9. I always find the most effective way to win a debate or prove my point is to simply call someone clueless if they don't agree with me, especially if they have provided many valid points against my line of thinking. Well executed.
  10. Average or even below average managers have gone to the playoffs. Look at Ned Yost or Farrell. Happens all the time. Outside of the Maddon signing which manager has switched clubs that you would have wanted? Should we jump at Mike Redmond now that he's available? Switch Hale to manager? Go with an unknown like Butterfield or Alomar jr? Somehow convince Leyland to suit up again? Are there any managers available that we know for sure would be better than Gibby? At the end of the day many people overestimate the impact a manager has on the W/L record of a team - making a change just for the sake of making a change isn't necessarily going to lead to better results. People act as though it's a sure thing that anyone could do a better job than him and that just isn't the case.
  11. Translation - I got nothing
  12. This is the perfect example of a post from someone who just hates Gibby so much it clouds any rationality they might have. "Stroman,Saunders,Navarro,Santiago,Bautista,Travis,Reyes being hurt is the main reason for the poor performance to date. Gibbons is number two" Really? Under-performance of our starters and BP is less to blame than Gibbons? "Who's a worse manager?" The fact you ask this implies you think Gibby is the worst manager, which is asinine. If you think that every single manager is better than Gibby then, well, you're delusional. If you follow and watch the game outside of just the Jays, you realize that every single team has instances where their fanbase questions decisions their manager makes. Doesn't mean the fans are always right and the managers are always wrong, but some managers make more questionable calls than others. And Gibby certainly doesn't top that list. "4)He is terrible and that is obvious, to argue otherwise means you have no clue either." Another statement with no depth whatsoever. Just exposes your bias. I may as well just add the word "not" between "is" and "terrible" and I have a statement that is just as compelling. "4) No ones irrationally criticizing anything" Yes, they do. The number of times Gibby has taken heat because of a bullpen move this year and then got shat on is ridiculous. People blame Gibby before the players in many instances. "5)Firing him wont solve all the problems but it will help." Really? No matter who we replace him with? Just toss anybody into the roll and we'll win right?
  13. I don't think anyone is saying he's a genius. There are better managers in the game of baseball and there are worse managers as well. People defend him against the argument that he's the main reason why the Jays have struggled in recent times. His haters are passionately against him and you constantly see people irrationally criticizing certain decisions, thus people call those people out. I'm not sure anyone is passionately "for" Gibby, but there are a lot of people who rant about him being terrible when that's just not the case. I would bet 90% of those who occasionally defend him would have no problem with him being replaced if a suitable candidate was found, but they also know it's not going to solve all of this team's problems.
  14. I hate the fact those 2 runs counts as earned runs. Estrada deserves better.
  15. Glad someone else caught that. Is it that hard just to look at his stat line before talking?
  16. It's pretty clear based on the posts in this thread that we understand how ridiculous of a thread it was to begin with.
  17. Has anyone noticed how Gibby blinks as well? It's like he keeps his eyes open for a long time and then blinks slowly and his eyelids stay closed for a fraction of a second longer than other managers. Obviously this is affecting the players and the team is under-performing because of it. Bring in a manager who blinks at a normal speed and this team would be 19-11
  18. Their entire outfield is in the top 6. Crazy.
  19. If you can use them, you can have them. Send me a PM with your email and I can email them to you.
  20. Sorry for the delay Bell11 - I had someone message me before who asked for them but needed to check their schedule before confirming - they can't make it. So these are still available for Bell or someone else.
  21. Not sure how close you are to the stadium, but if you have the flexibility to buy very last minute you'll find some great deals. Last year I went out for a run, got home at 6:55, checked stubhub and found an "in the action" ticket for $30. Had already sold my seats. Bought it, printed and had the quickest shower of my life lol. Those are the ones that are face $210 and include food/non-alcoholic drinks. Don't get deals that good very often, but you will easily find tickets at well under face weekdays right before the game. Stubhub is awesome, both from a selling perspective and a buying perspective.
  22. I personally hate the way the new turf is acting, but what is MLB gonna do? Force them to play the game in Baltimore for the series instead?
  23. Section 116, 15th row. I end up selling/giving away at least half......there's just too many games in a year to go to all of them with my schedule. I also will sell them in advance and then just buy a single ticket right before the game on stubhub for dirt cheap.....if I go to the game solo.
