    Because of his size he gets less extension, which in turn requires the ball to travel a greater distance to home plate. Simple physics would deduce that because the ball has to travel a greater distance it has more time to slow down resulting in a lower speed as it crosses the plate. I'm pretty sure the data is available with regards to exit velocity and result velocity if someone wants to actually research it

    It's definitely more beneficial to have front loaded contracts, for both the player and the team. But the main reason you don't see it any sport is directly related to the lifespan of GMs with one team. Signing Tulo to an eight year front loaded deal more than likely will not have any benefits for the current GM, as the odds of him being employed for the entirety of said contract is slim. Backloading on the other hand, allows GMs to squeze more talent on a team with a limited budget, while pushing the s*** years of contract onto what is more than likely a different managing group. It really is a ridiculous practice that has so many negative future effects. If I was Shapiro I would of asked for a 15 year contract and implemented a policy of no back loaded contracts either through trade or signing.

    It is rather peculiar with how poorly he commanded his fastball in yesterday's start that he only walked one batter (HBP excluded). Just about every sinker was up in the zone, a recipe to fail with his pitch usage. On the plus side his curve looked decent at times, and we saw a few change ups. (Hate saying this but tabler is right, he throws it to hard). The change looks like it needs alot of work still, he's erratic with it and really has a noticeable delivery change that batters will pick up on easily if he starts to use it more. He's still got a long way to go developing those secondary pitches, but the lack of any command of his fastball is somewhat alarming and reeks of Sanchez starts from last season.

    no one eats steriods, and if they do they are retarded. Injection is the only way to go (as it only passes through your liver once, as opposed to twice through ingestion)
