    Spring training is just that, spring training, I didnt say i would of left him off given the jays dire starting pitching, but that doesnt negate the fact that both these kids should be in the minors working on their game. It just illustrates how shiat the Jays pitching depth is

    I agree with most of what you say, but if they keep Navarro and Martin is catching Dickey, there is no need for Thole. That scenario of the DH/pitcher would only happen once or twice a year at most, you don't need to carry an extra catcher all year on the off chance Martin will be injured, thats what Buffalo is for.

    with that massive infield, his D will play up huge.

    who would you replace him in the rotation with that would exceed that performance? assuming Estrada is in the rotation and Norris is in AAA to start the season (service clock) I could see a scenario where Sanchez gets the nod out of the gate with him getting shifted to the bullpen mid-may if he struggles, and Norris takes his spot a little later.

    i think ERA will have less do with that decision than K/BB rate will. If he is walking guys like crazy I expect him in AAA, if he puts up a respectable K/BB rate with a 4.50 ERA I doubt he will get sent down, especially since who will replace him is unlikely to exceed those numbers.
