If the leafs miraculously made the playoffs, what a potential redemption story that would be with Reimer. And with the bruins as the likely opponent too.
  2. How would a draft with the top non-playoff teams getting the highest picks work out? So, as opposed to the worst team having the best chance at the first pick, it's instead the 9th place team in a conference. It would certainly eliminate tanking by the front offices. But I guess an argument can be made that some teams would be in perpetual failure. What do you guys think?
  3. In terms of rebounding and defense, Valanciunas has looked really good the past two games.

Carlyle's coaching is so frustrating to watch
  5. It seemed Gortat was getting away with a lot. But the calls looked fairly even up until that third overtime. I didn't watch the entire game though, so I could be wrong.
  6. Lol...
  7. How does this face scream anything but major league baseball?

It will be a huge waste of draft picks if they let him go, but that amount is ridiculous. If the Leafs can't sign him to a reasonable deal I can't see any team giving up anything of significance for a third line center who's up for free agency.
  9. Lol, the Knicks want to start talking again but are still reluctant to give up a first rounder or Hardaway? Yeah, good luck with that.
  10. Not only did the dunks suck, but the whole presentation had so many awkward moments. Ernie Johnson even mentioned the "slam dunker" of the night before it was supposed to be announced.

Paul Ranger on the fourth line?
  12. I agree, I'd also take the player with the highest ceiling, in this case Wiggins. But I think many want a quick impact player and are probably swayed by the point totals.

Just looking at some stats, I didn't realize his Corsi was that high. I just don't see him as a good player while I'm watching a game. But it's probably my bias because of the contract and lack of production.
  14. I don't think it's out of the question to think that Parker and Embiid could be drafted ahead of him. Obviously it's about projecting a player, but I'm sure some GMs think he won't become as good a player as Parker.

Interesting indeed. While a third line player shouldn't make a huge difference if the team wins or loses, maybe the line doesn't get as many scoring chances to kind of get the rest of the team going. But it's not like the first two lines should be affected.
  16. I can't see him being drafted in the top 2 at this point. Where do you think he'll end up going if everything stays about the same?

And this after a game where they actually weren't outplayed for the first time in a while. Maybe just the mere presence of Clarkson in the lineup brought them back down.
  18. Sign: Burnett Aquire: Ackley Trade: Cecil

So because they're facing Ottawa the logical thing to do is play both McLaren and Orr.
