  1. Yup. Then put Grandy in RF and Gift at short. Martin has a good eye, he may have layed off those breaking pitches in the dirt/low.
  2. I don't know, I would have taken my chances with Diaz against Robertson and then Chapman versus Grandy. Grichuk was going to strike out regardless. He has trouble with practically every pitch, but no chance he was going to make contact off Robertson's off speed stuff.
  3. Yeah that was the last straw for me with Grichuk. Don't care if he has a hot streak in him, this guy is never going to improve his k%, and that's going to make him a s*** hitter long term. Kindly replace him with Teoscar in RF and Morales at DH.
  4. Why did Gibbons pinch hit for Diaz instead of Grichuk? It worked out with Grandy, but there was no chance in hell Grichuk was going to do anything other than swing aimlessly against Robertson.
  5. Morales destroys the roster flexibility so much that it is infuriating. They obviously did not want to release him in the winter but now that they have a surplus of options that are by far better than him, there's really no point in holding on to him. It's sunk cost. They aren't getting a return on it. Just cut him loose and free up the DH spot.
  6. Samad Taylor is going to rocket up the system rankings. He's good man.
  7. Hernandez's walk rate in the minors was better than Grichuk's, and his K% was never this bad prior to coming to Toronto. I don't think it's unreasonable to like him better than Grichuk offensively, but a lot will depend on his k/bb. I like Grichuk's power, defence, and running, but not sure if he will ever overcome the k/bb issues. Hernandez at least has a minor league history of being better in that area.
  8. This is the only way Jose will stay in the league; be a utility player that covers 3b, 1b, and the outfield.
  9. With how good Maile has been so far, they should go with Martin at 3B and Solarte at 2B, at least once.
  10. It pains me to say this as a Goins hater, but that's an insult to Goins.
  11. More like he's facing a great offence. He caught a bad break with Sunday's game being rained out as surely he would have carved up the Royals, but instead has to face Boston.
  12. Yeah you could tell Maile didn't even know how to answer that question. It's like they expected him to say "yeah I know I suck, but I'm glad Gibby showed faith in me anyway". Still better than Barry Davis, though. All Maile has to do is be replacement level. If he can do that, then it's like a one win improvement over the team's back ups the last two years.
  13. Well, Herrera is actually good so not much you can do there. Grandy had a nice cut but just went foul. Damn please don’t lose to this s***** team.
  14. Tempura is good now but for some reason I still don’t trust him as the 8th inning guy. Giving up a dinger to Escobar doesn’t help.
  15. I’d rather have Barney on a minor league deal than Gift. I won’t say Goins because I never want to see him hit for the Jays again, but Goins is prime Jeter compared to Gift. Seriously, Gift is bad. Like, really bad. His minor league numbers are horrendous and he has no positive qualities at the plate. Espinosa might suck but he might fluke into a HR every now and then. If Gift makes contact it’s an accomplishment. It’s just annoying because Gift is going to start every 3rd day until JD gets back. Brutal watching this guy at the plate.
  16. Gift is straight up the worst player I have seen on the Jays. Can’t think of a worse hitter. As much as I love Shatkins, no idea why they kept him over Epinosa.
  17. Nice. Kill the Royals dead all three games.
  18. LOL. I'm done. I can't take this s***.
  19. I'd be scared to death to take any pitch with this ump.
  20. Yeah if Garcia was facing a big league lineup this would be a blowout already.
  21. Garcia is serving up meatballs.
  22. The Royals know how to play real baseball. Singles after singles, and then pitch to contact knowing the hard hit balls will go right at their defenders. Awesome. (I'm still salty we lost to these bastards in the ALCS).
  23. It wouldn't be the Jays vs. the Royals without the Royals hitting .800 on balls in play.
  24. I know it's a make up game, but I think I've seen more people at a Starbucks at 2 pm than in the stands at RC right now.
