  1. Yes, but he can't be any worse than Travis.. who looks like he needs to be sent to AAA to work on stuff.. we could use an OF up here, possibly Dwight Smith Jr. or Ian Parmley, who are tearing the cover off the ball in Buffalo.. Coghlan isn't hitting much at the moment, BTW.
  2. Travis dropped to 9th, Carrera leading off.. when's Pompey going to be ready? Stefan Crichton called up for the O's BTW--guessing one of Jimenez, Miley or Bundy is going on the DL..
  3. Only tonight because Wright is a s**tballer... nothing more than a flash in the pan who's getting exposed in his 2nd full season, and the Sox bullpen blows.. O's don't walk and are similar offensively to the Jays.. 16 hits, but only 1 walk.. before today's game, they were down with the Jays in AVG, OBP, OPS...
  4. At the very least, we need to turn it around against the O's.. but we can't keep not hitting like this.. otherwise, we're going to be in a huge hole before May.. look what happened to the Astros last year! Horrid start like the Jays cost them a shot at the postseason..
  5. At the very least, Jacoby needs to be canned ASAP. This is as bad as 2008 if not worse.. good pitching ruined by punchless offense.
  6. Terrible. Brook Jacoby needs to be fired now. This has gone far enough..
  7. Somebody hit the damn ball!!! So sick of the lack of offense.. time to consider canning Brook Jacoby, as his coaching isn't working. Also time to shake up the roster...
  8. Should also point out that an error by X. Cedeno didn't help.. Yanks now lead 6-3. Why is it they play so well at the Trop and yet are getting destroyed at Yankee Stadium? Adjustments?
  9. Jays shaking up the lineup--Morales at 1B, Donaldson hitting 3rd and DHing, Smoak benched (hopefully for a while):
  10. What a collision there by Rickie Weeks and Brett Gardner.. and it's all Weeks and Kevin Cash's fault.. he's a 2nd baseman/outfielder, not a 1B...regardless, it could be a blow to the Rays, especially considering Gillaspie isn't MLB ready and LoMo is a platoon bat at best.
  11. Dyson sucks, Jeffress blows, and now Bush may be looking at an extended absence.. it's going to be a long season in Arlington:
  12. 1 and 6 for the record, 1 for 6 with RISP. Something need to change with the offense.. these 1/2 run losses are frustrating. Only good news is that Baltimore is finally cooling off as their bullpen has started to implode and their offense is as punchless as the Jays.. but the Jays need to take advantage NOW. Not later...
  13. Cespedes has 3 HRs already tonight! And it's only the 5th.. will we see 4?
  14. Who thought that White Sox/Indians would be in the 10th inning still tied at 1? Edwin: 0-4, 2Ks, 2 GIDP.. wonder if Indians fans are getting frustrated?
  15. Indians broadcast just hit technical problems--now we have to suffer through Hawk Harrelson....
  16. Lindor continues to clobber the ball--just hit his 4th HR,.. Edwin, not so much...he's off to another slow start in Cleveland.
  17. Boyd no-hitting the Twins thru 5... but taking a lot of pitches to do so. Meanwhile, the Tigers are basically swinging at everything Santiago throws.. only 48 pitches thru 4 innings.
  18. In case you're wondering who's the best with RISP: http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/batting/split/39/sort/avg/order/true Jays 29th.. 3 other supposed contenders are also struggling with RISP in the Astros, Mariners.. even Cleveland (really need Kipnis back ASAP).. and Arizona's #1, which explains their strong start.. Of course, it's a very small sample size, and things can change in a week or two.. As for pitching with RISP: http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/pitching/split/39/sort/opponentAvg/order/false It may not be a reliable stat, but Cleveland is REALLY struggling to hold runners... of course, it doesn't help they just played Texas and Arizona..two very strong offensive teams. Minnesota is doing a good job keeping runners at 2nd and 3rd from scoring.. did anyone really expect this? Once again, it's a small sample size.
  19. To be fair, Gurriel isn't the only one in Houston struggling.. outside of Springer and utilityman Marwin Gonzalez, the Astros haven't shown much offense. Altuve's off to a slow start, as is Bregman.. and Reddick's swing is still stuck in Oakland.. and FYI, Houston with RISP is nearly as bad as Toronto (so far).. and Toronto's not the worst--that honour belongs to the Kansas City Royals.. it's been a long fall for a team that was killing the ball 2-3 years ago and winning 90+ games...
  20. MLB Gameday's messed up right now. Mets beat Philly... on only 4 hits, half on Jay Bruce HRs.... while Conforto rots on the bench. And what's with the Reds? About to go to 5-2..neck and neck with the Cubs in the NL Central. But their pitching usage has been strange...Lorenzen and Reed pitched 3 innings tonight in the win. Are they doing this to try to work on their stuff so they can eventually be moved to the rotation? And Brett Cecil still sucks...
  21. Sox lose 3/4 to the Tigers.. and waste Sale's gem. Tough series with the O's coming up...
  22. Just criticizing Farrell's management of pitchers--leaves in starters too long, and can't manage a bullpen--and Jays fans should know this, considering he managed here for 2 years..
  23. And now Sale's going to lose as Farrell left him in too long.. Tigers take the lead.
  24. Chris Sale absolutely dominating--but is headed for a no-decision as the Sox offense has been non-existent.. they sure miss David Ortiz in the middle of the lineup.
  25. Guessing they made adjustments?
