  1. Let's win 4 in a row tonight! It'd help get our season back on track.
  2. Maile's done more defensively in just 2 starts than Salty did in his entire time in Toronto..
  3. Red Sox have Sandoval under contract for a while yet and don't want to block Rafael Devers, who may reach the majors this summer based on the way Dombrowski rushed Moncada. So they're out on JD as well. Plus, cut Bregman some slack.. he's 23 and still has some developing to do power-wise.. but he's doing a good enough job getting on base to keep him in the lineup.
  4. No kidding, especially for a franchise that is very deep in debt and can't actually afford these contracts. Wait until after 2018, when Murphy, Harper and others leave via free agency.. and Scherzer/Strasburg's backloaded deals destroy the team. Nats don't exactly have deep pockets.. hence why so much backloading. No way the Nats can even think about affording Harper, as they won't be able to build around him..
  5. Nats have nothing to trade--only Victor Robles has value, and most of their prospects are mediocre at best. Plus, they need a closer more than anything...
  6. At least our front office didn't blow top prospects for Adam Eaton(who just tore his ACL) or have players with $40M/year guaranteed due to backloading.. like Washington, which is going to be headed for a huge fall after 2018 when Harper bolts for the Yankees, Dodgers or somewhere else... and can't resign him because they gave Strasburg, Scherzer and Zimmerman huge backloaded deals. Look, there are worse front offices than Toronto.
  7. The verdict is in--Judge just ruled Jayson Aquino guilty of crappy pitching, as he just hit his 10th HR of the season! Early MVP candidate? Yanks up 12-2...
  8. O's and Nats will do everything to resign those two players--don't assume they'll be in Yankees uniforms. Plus, there's the luxury tax rules to consider as well.. plus the Yanks have other needs as well, especially when they could lose all the veterans in the starting rotation (Tanaka, Sabathia, Pineda) this offseason.. leaving nothing but Severino and a bunch of inexperienced kids.. which will force the Yankees to open the checkbook THIS offseason.
  9. Yankees a good possibility to be on top, but don't assume the Sox will be on top--they're a Ortiz-level big bat short of even being considered a realistic contender now, and there are massive holes on the Sox roster, especially at 3B, and C.. and there's the inevitable decline of Pedroia, which already has started.. and the rotation's mediocre after Sale and there's no certainty what Price will bring when healthy.. In addition, Boston faces major problems long term thanks to Dombrowski burning down the farm to get Sale, Thornburg(injured), and others.. they have one legit prospect right now in Devers, who is a long ways from being major league ready, and may not stay at 3B..
  10. Stupid thread. Atkins/Shapiro are doing the best they can.. but Anthopolous left the franchise drained after those trades to win in 2015 and it takes time to rebuild the farm system.. Some worse front offices include Detroit, Tampa (they've drafted VERY poorly in the last few years, and are headed for a major collapse when Longoria is either traded or goes into decline..), Baltimore (even if the team is winning, the franchise is going to be in trouble after this season or next, as Machado is obviously not resigning after 2018 because ownership there is cheap and/or spends money foolishly on guys like Davis and Trumbo.. Showalter can only do so much), San Diego, Miami..
  11. Epic collapse for the O's... from a 9-1 lead to losing the game 14-11 to the Yankees.
  12. 6-17. We stink. It's time for a shakeup and some firings. And the bullpen needs major change..
  13. At least consider firing Brook Jacoby and Pete Walker and whoever the bullpen coach is... this sucks.
  14. Maile's done more in 2 ABs so far than Salty did in the 4 weeks he was a Blue Jay...
  15. 6-16.. it is past time for the Jays to take a flamethrower to the coaching staff and some of the underperforming players, most notably Brook Jacoby, Casey Lawrence, Ryan Tepera, Aaron Loup, Devon Travis, Jarrod Saltalamacchia.. Hopefully Atkins/Shapiro will be making huge changes after this disaster.
  16. Hopefully this is the last we see of Lawrence in a Jays uniform...
  17. Devon's killing the team with his lack of hitting.. .118 average means he needs to be sent to Buffalo to work on his swing. Things need to change.. #LetsSink...
  18. Bye bye Casey Lawrence--have fun on the bus to Buffalo. And take some of the coaches and Devon Travis with you.. we suck!
  19. Damn. That really hurts... bullpen killed us today.
  20. Really need that double play right now... or this one's done. If this goes to another inning--Cards will have to PH for the pitcher, as he's after Gyorko... and all they have is Eric Fryer..
  21. What a circus the Cards are right now.. they're threatening to turn around the Jays season (for the better for us). Wonder if some changes are coming to St. Louis if they get swept vs. the Blue Jays..
  22. Wonder how long before we see a bloodbath with the Cards coaching staff? This is embarassing for a club which typically is one of the better run orgs. in baseball.... And thanks to GOins, Jays are up 3-0...
  23. 5 solid innings for Latos.. he basically earned another start possibly with this outing (until Happ returns).
