  1. And Cash blows another lead as Kyle Kubitza, the young 3B for the Angels, ties the game. Get some frigging length from your starters, Kevin! The Rays bullpen will be toast by the All-Star break.. look at the Yankees, whose overuse just got Miller hurt, and Betances is already at 29 appearances(32.1IP) and is going to burn out sooner or later.
  2. Cash is about to blow another lead by going to his overworked bullpen in Tampa.. BTW, Preston Guilmet is back with the Rays again.
  3. One thing to consider.. with Wright being used tonight, Boston's going to need a deep outing from Kelly tomorrow, and unfortunately, his splits vs. the Blue Jays aren't good.
  4. Look at that gold glove defense by Sandoval! Throwing it right into the stands.. 8th error now for him. Only Chase Headley is worse..
  5. Wow, Miley just screamed at Farrell.. I wonder if John tried to beat up Wade Miley like Gibbons once tried to do with Ted Lilly... what a dysfunctional clubhouse Boston is turning into. How much longer until someone writes "This ship is sinking" in Boston, just like Shea Hillenbrand did here in Toronto?
  6. Mariners broadcast even wants a team back in Montreal.. they just dissed Tropicana Field's low attendance.
  7. Erik Kratz DFAd by the Royals, because they chose to keep defensively minded Drew Butera as the backup. This means none of the players from the Danny Valencia trade are with the Royals anymore.. looks like the Jays are winning the trade, especially with Hendriks back in Toronto and being a weapon out of the pen. Should we bring Kratz back?
  8. They're just not ready yet. Their current lineup is too flawed right now, with way too many low average/high K rate players. And they need more than Carlos Correa to help..
  9. The offense has the lowest average in the AL, highest K rate, 14th in hits, and basically have been inflated by the home run (1st). Kuechel is their only quality starter, as McHugh has regressed, Feldman's on the DL, Hernandez got demoted to long relief, Brett Oberholtzer hasn't been great, and McCullers and Velasquez are raw and still uncertain assets. While it's nice to see them playing well, there's too many flaws on the Astros right now to expect them to contend this season. The only benefit is that the AL West sucks.. Angels, Mariners and A's are below .500. Keep an eye on the Rangers, though.. that team is a real threat in the AL West, providing they stay healthy and their pitching holds up until Perez, Holland and Harrison return. If they return and the Rangers are in contention, it could give the Rangers a chance to win the weak AL West.
  10. 10,088 at the Trop tonight for the Angels/Rays game. A few more low attendances like this and the Rays will be plumbing record lows in average attendance/game (the record is 13,070 set in 2003.) They are getting close to Expos levels.. nobody wants to see a winning team in St. Pete for some reason. Maybe the Rays should start selling veterans if nobody's going to show up? Can't live on the TV money alone.
  11. Yep. Right now, Chili Davis is ruining the bats of the Red Sox (24th in runs scored, 21st in AVG, 27th in SLG, 28th in XBH), and are too busy clogging the bases (4th in BBs.. but they can't score with RISP). So much for an explosive offense, while Brook Jacoby is helping the Jays have the highest offense in baseball.
  12. Only Pedroia and Bogaerts have been worth anything. HanRam has offset any offense by playing the worst defense in LF in MLB history, Ortiz looks cooked at 39, Napoli has been inconsistent and near the Mendoza line, and Sandoval.. Sox fans wish they could send him back to San Fran right now. Many of the problems can be traced to Chili Davis (hitting coach), John Farrell and Ben Cherington. All three should be fired, preferably by the All-Star Break, which I expect will happen, or at the end of the season. This team is a mess. On the plus side, there's some promise with Ed-Rod and Betts, along with Bogaerts.
  13. Another Red Sox loss. With Seattle winning, Boston now will have the 2nd worst record in the AL. Does anyone think Boston is toast in the AL, and should start firing coaches and start trading veterans?
  14. Kyle Kubitza with his 1st MLB hit off Erasmo.. now the Angels need some runs.
  15. Uh.. who taught the Red Sox their baserunning? That was awful.. are they trying to get their coaching staff and Farrell fired?
  16. All because the Nats bullpen continues to blow games..
  17. Minnesota is sliding.. another loss to the Royals, and now they're only 2.5 up in the first wild card, and with their sked, they could lose that lead.. now I'm starting to think the Jays have a decent shot at being a contender.
  18. Easy schedule? Mariners and Angels aren't exactly good teams. And the Nats are just mediocre.. and the Yanks don't score those runs if Ian Desmond actually plays decent defense at SS.
  19. Ask Tampa.. they got pummeled by the Angels tonight. And of course, Odorizzi is hurt.. don't be surprised if the Jays soon are leading the 2nd wild card (Texas is going to fade.. that pitching isn't going to hold up.)
  20. Doesn't matter when the team doesn't hit. They're basically similar to the Rays.. a non-contending team with great pitching, but a lousy offense. Both of those teams will be watching the playoffs in October.. when the Nats and Yanks/Jays (no confidence in the O's or Red Sox) win their divisions..
  21. Then someone teach Ian Desmond how to play defense... he hit Ramon Flores in the butt, and it sparked the Yanks offense on the error. NL East teams are a joke. It's worse that the Atlanta Braves, a rebuilding team, are in contention because the Nats and Mets have treaded water all season..
  22. Mets defense isn't that great. And their offense is near the bottom of the NL. Without their pitching, this team is near last place.
  23. And to think, we play these same Mets next week.. absolutely punchless offense. How this Mets team is in 1st place I don't know.
  24. No-no watch in New York.. not Noah Syndergaard. Chris Heston of the Giants is not only outdueling Noah, he's throwing a perfct game thru 6.
  25. Still time left for the rest of the league's fans to get other teams' players up in votes. I mean, Escobar shouldn't be starting.. Xander Bogaerts of the Red Sox would be a better option, as he is outplaying Alcides Escobar in every facet of the game outside of defense.
