  1. In my mind, Kratz is just so much better than Thole. By that I mean Kratz is middling, and Thole is below middling. Kratz's offense is a big plus. Rogers and Redmond are both out of options, but Rogers has electric stuff, a higher ceiling if you will, and Redmond seems to do okay being the long guy out of the pen. Now who do I *WANT* to start? I want McGowan and Hutchinson to the 5 and 4. But that ain't happening.
  2. Sorry, I fixed that mistakes, now take a look. We'll have an 8-man bullpen.
  3. Yep, but I'm short at 4'11.
  4. It'll be the following - book it... SP (5) ----------- Dickey Morrow Buehrle Happ Rogers Bullpen (8 Man) ---------------- Cecil Delabar Janssen McGowan Santos Loup Redmond Jeffress Catchers (2) --------- Navarro Kratz Infielders (6) --------- Encarnacion Lind Reyes Izturis Lawrie Goins Outfielders (4) -------------- Bautista Cabrera Rasmus Sierra
  5. This is exactly how I feel. We're in the minority though, by a lot.
  6. I'd make out with Emma Watson, and half of the girls on the Dutch Olympic team...but give me Brett Lawrie for the real deal anytime.
  7. No s***, he says it way tooooo much. last year he'd use phrases like "these contracts time well", always with the "time well", and I found that annoying, but I was still happy with the promise our team had for the season. Now I'm just a straight out f***ing hater.
  8. This is so funny, a few of us were talking about places to play and we all agreed a place like San Diego is perfect...beautiful city and weather, large enough city to be fun, but small enough to get lost in a crowd, expectations seem low, etc. This is where a head case, a guy who has anxiety issues, like Grienke should have ended up.
  9. I'd say 0-5% - I think the Jays know that and GM_AA already has a contract on the table ready to go for Ubaldo. I am 80% sure we sign him a few days after Tanaka signs with, hopefully, the Dodgers. Any team but the f***ing Yankees.
  10. It deserves its own thread. Unless we have a limited amount of threads that can be posted on this site.
  11. http://jaysjournal.com/2014/01/04/colby-rasmus-told-blue-jays-prepare-trade/ Interesting...considering Gose struggled in winter ball and the org's outfield depth sux.
  12. Hamels is wayyyyy to expensive. Lee would be good. Would Stroman + Happ + Izturis + some other lesser prospect make it work? Just to get rid of Izturis and Happ saves us $10M. Hutchinson and Morrow look poised to be in the rotation for 2014. That's 5 decent starters Lee Dickey Morrow Beurhle Hutchinson
  13. In terms of DH, I like what the Rays are going to do...take turns rotating in that position. I don't think you need a strictly DH type player like Lind. Unless someone falls in your lap. An older slugger with eroding defensive skills.
  14. Whoa. You read your post and thought it was okay? Sorry, didn't mean to poke fun at an illiterate.
  15. Seriously, why not Jimenez? Assuming he's healthy by March, will he suddenly become a s***** defensive catcher in the bigs? No. Will he bat .120 because he's young? Doubt it. Just do it AA.
  16. Clearly not. With your mastery of the English language you would have difficulties ordering food at Burger King.
  17. Good use of the word 'modicum'.
  18. I'm not sure that's possible. He was historically bad after May.
  19. Well, he is hot. But so is Brad Pitt and I don't want him to be our catcher either. But I think at this stage we build him up to say see ya' with better results.
  20. They can trade all those guys and it might be enough but I seriouslyl doubt it will be. So, to me, you predict some really crappy let down years for 2014-2015, followed by a crappy, sustained lull because of a barren farm system. Man, I hope you're wrong.
  21. Super. You must have done fantastic in school.
  22. Sure, if they had a time machine they could do that. In hindsight everything looks clear. I thought we were on our way to the World Series with those stunning signings and trades last year. They must have too. It didn't work. Now we need to start in a different direction, I don't want to panic spend and buy additional s***** personnel. If GM_AA went to Beeston and the new CEO and said hey, we went all in and it backfired, and now we don't have the money to get us out of the hole let me build it up again he may not be fired. Put it this way, he can thrown $30M at some crappy players that won't fill our holes, and maybe trade some prospects, but that certainly won't save his job. Taking a reasonable, building methodical approach, something he's good at, is really IMHO the only way he saves his skin.
  23. I disagree. Last year would have been too soon. Everyone, except for Rasmus, underachieved or was injured so I expect trade value to be higher in 2014, for the principals I mention anyway.
  24. Which thought process? I need some clarica.
  25. Our AAA team did not have great prospects. But if you look at our lower farm system, plus the bonanza we'd reap with the trades I mentioned, we'd by top 3. Book it.
