  1. Fantastic salesman though. I would definitely hire him if I owned a tire shop.
  2. We're not looking at anything else, it's an isolated question, we're assuming all other factors are equal. Please for the love of god stop.
  3. I don't as long as you realize it was an isolated question used an example, the stat that I used is irrelevant.
  4. Yes, that's really my point in all this.
  5. Yeah, the problem is most GM's go the course of Group A because they want that super-star on their team - it ends up costing them more. Angels are an example of "A", Oakland is more an example of "B". Of course you could argue "A" may sell more tickets in the short-term, but it won't win you more games.
  6. Don't be a tight ass, it's an isolated question.
  7. It has to be somebody's job to correct players mistakes, or else you're just running a less effective ball club.
  8. What's the better group of players? A) Player 1: OPS .925 Player 2: OPS .800 Player 3: OPS .800 -OR- Player 1: OPS .850 Player 2: OPS .850 Player 3: OPS .850
  9. For me it's less about the fact that he did it and more about the fact that after Gibbons talked to him it seems he would still do it again... which is just retarded if you ask me. So either Gibbons doesn't understand baseball or whatever Gibbons said did not reach home/ sink in with Bautista, both of those conclusions are unacceptable.
  10. What are you talking about? A manager should be the one affecting the players decisions if the ones they are already making are poor, Gibbons does not appear to be doing that.
  11. Total your 5 starters performance and divide by 5, whatever that number is needs to be better than the same equated number from the other teams 5 starters. Ace means very little in the regular season.
  12. You realize they brought Cecil, Delabar and Santos into that game after so what you're saying doesn't make sense.
  13. We may not know for sure but every season we see strong evidence to support that claim.
  14. Did.Not.Vote - No 'rest of the season' option.
  15. It worries me more that I just don't think he has any control (respect) over his players. Unlike a guy like Maddon, if Maddon asks his players to do something they're going to do it and you can bet it's going to help the team.
  16. I'm a mild Gibbons fan but I'm not sure about it anymore. He's letting his players get away with stupid decisions, they need to be held accountable, Bautista saying he didn't regret the third base steal attempt yesterday reflects badly on whatever Gibbons had to say to him afterwards. And he's not putting the team in the best possible situation to win ball games, i.e. bringing in Jenkins. He needs to get his out of the sand and start thinking outside the box.
  17. Oh, you guys love that game. I don't really get the appeal in making random guesses about who's going to hit a HR... where's the skill?
