    Totally agree. The numbers on D for him aren't kind but my eyes tell me he is very effective on picks and making smart plays like he did leading Goins at 2B and not hitting the runner coming in....the importance of the DP at that time cant be understated. You just cant have a guy who K's 2-4 times a night without the upside hitting 5th.

    I was asking that the other day and thinking about it. BJ his 1st year maybe. Delabar 1st half 2013 was k'ing 14/9 with splitter? Ward's slider? But nothing seems as good as Cecil. The sequence to Gardner was electric. He is looking away for the hook on strike 3 and he goes upstairs at 94. His stuff right now is honestly mind boggling. Its not just his hook....his FB command is setting it all up.

    Yanks can beat anyone including Archer the last couple starts. However their LHH lineup is in tough against that nasty brute Sale.

    Rethinking Smoak. The BB rate is under 10% and the K rate is over 27%. Lost in last nights euphoria was an another abysmal night for him at the plate. He is consistently overmatched by good breaking balls and his bat looks very slow with a long swing. If he cant address this I'm afraid his ceiling is not very high.

    Normally Id say let it rip Revere...he has been hitting everything. But with the crowd and the pressure it wouldn't have hurt to take a strike. Wasn't like that pitch was grooved.
