  1. Its huge. North has posted some more recent data and I'm trying to find the study I recently heard spoken about. I love instant replay. Its changed the gm so much for the better. Regardless if we win or lose a challenge the right call is made and we don't have to spend days cursing an ump for changing the outcome of a gm over a missed call. Its not a slight against them. It all happens in real time at high speed. Robo Umps is the same principle.
  2. And we think we have things to complain about with Gibby. This Board would come unglued if Joba was our option in that situation lol
  3. Thanks. Ill read them. I don't think the link I found was what I heard. The one I heard said that Jose was the player receiving the most bad calls in MLB on pitches away.
  4. Of course. Look at the Archer Price ace showdown on Sat. Who saw that coming? 10-8. Orioles can hit.
  5. The Stroman effect will be that Dickey's start will only concern the overall AL top seed race. The AL East crown will be decided already.
  6. Im looking for it... I meant to look at the time. The radio report was detailed. http://articles.latimes.com/2014/mar/31/sports/la-sp-sn-umpires-ball-strike-call-wrong-20140331 Says umps are wrong 14% of the time.
  7. Dickey will get the Stroman effect.
  8. whats he saying....watching Yankees down 7-4 on their feed.
  9. Well he served #3 up to. Guess you had to take the shot Jonn.
  10. Just a jk. Albeit not a good one. We all know NYY can score a ton in their with their RF playpen
  11. Yanks are good team. Don't quit. Going to be a wild one.
  12. Absolutely awesome to watch. Cheering me up after the rain out. Don't know why some fear the Yanks. They are a good team overall but their fans should fear us.
  13. 6-0 BoSox...well this takes the sting out of a rainout!
  14. He is I think. Winning obviously would galvanize that. Was listening to a radio report. They did a major study on robo umps and the MLB player who got the most called strikes on balls outside the zone was Jose. Another good argument for robo umps.
  15. I think they will move a regular to two in and out in different games to give them a bit of time off, and bring them in to pinch hit/stay in if needed. I think that's smart.
  16. For years on the old Board and this one I heard people bitch that Bautista wasn't a winner...that he was selfish arguing with umps etc. Guy has been boss in the pennant race. After the MIA deal and Melky signing there were too many Dominicans lol. We have heard it all. The main ingredient on this team is talent...that's the differentiator. It certainly helps that they seem to like and support each other but talent and winning drive "chemistry"
  17. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Navvy went up a notch for me when he guessed right on Miller's first pitch FB in the 9th and tied that big game lol. He squared that up big time. Wish we could have completed that comeback. Would have been a sweet one.
  18. Take your point on their tandem. Their numbers are good together. I don't know if its real or just an anomaly. Its not the end of the world and Navvy is capable of offensive production. Its not Thole. Its more the D loss that concerns me.
  19. JD, please part the skies temporarily to allow this onslaught and rout of the hapless O's to take place. Nice GDT. Just the right amount of humility balance was struck.
  20. LOOK at those pants! No wonder they dumped Valencia!
  21. Thanks. Thought for sure West and the crew blew that one. Good for them they got it right (that's easier to say now cause we won )
  22. I'm not making this an either/or. We can use Cola against LHP and Smoak against RHP. Ride the hot hands. Smoak is pull happy on the ground. You are correct, and because of that the shift will likely keep his BAPIP at .250. That's been consistent with him all career. I do think Cola's .410 BABIP and .380 wOBA are unsustainable, although I agree because he does go the other way his BAPIP should be higher than Smoaks. Not that big of a spread though. Their K % is virtually dead even now at 27%.
  23. Yup. Gibby redemption thread coming? Cecil destroyed Davis in the 9th and it was very smart to leave him in to face him regardless of the outcome.
  24. Was in HOU and watched them bash and pitch their way to a 4 game sweep over our 1st half version in May. They are a good team and Dallas K owned us in his start. We are a dangerous team and so are they. Cant take them lightly.
