    I’m having the same issue. More this year than ever before the umping is really bothering me. It’s hard enough to pitch and hit. The consistency has been extremely poor. Changing the games, and not in a good way. Matz at 100 pitches already.

    Ya its true. As someone who is 55 and was an Expos fan back to Rusty Staub days, before there were Jays, I used to pee myself with excitement when one of our guys got 100 RBIs or 20 wins. The "Triple Crown" was everything. My first ball glove was a Yaz "Triple Crown" model. I used to be mad when one of our starters "didn't get the win". Now I could give a crap about any of those things. Its why guys like Tabby make me insane. Still have a lot to learn, but this Board has been a great source of discussion/debate and you can learn a lot about whats really creating incremental value in performance. Bring on the new posters and they will be open minded or get chewed up. Its Darwinian.

    Great win and great sweep. My deepest apologies to Stripling overreaction for wishing him shot against a wall early in game. I had Manoah on his way up lol. Vlad doing the knee bends with Romano had my 12 year old son in absolute stitches. Happy Happy.

    I saw that...almost 50% cutters which is way up usage. Basically what that fangraphs chart showed was what i thought was a slider is a cutter? His V has been consistent since 2017. I cant imagine there wont be some regression, to be expected. He has been lights out. Been such a weird season. I think about those early Merryweather appearances where he dominated NYY. Its like did that happen? Was that a mirage? Then Charlie brings him in for 2 inning stint, and poof he is gone again.

    I don't post new threads often, but when I do its for badass unheralded pen arms that go out and own hitters. Chatwood has been an incredible boost for us given the loss of Yates and Merryweather. 13k/9 and chewing up leverage innings for $3mm/year. Can he maintain this? Who cares...even if he is close to what he has been and can stay healthy he has been a great signing.

    Like I said. Use Cole! Lol. f*** it it worked out. More 4D chess. I can’t keep up. Nice win Jays! Great to see Teo raking and Ryu on his game. Another pen lock down.

    We are for sure but up in 9th you have to go for nailing the win. Tomorrow could be a blow out either way. Or Cole gets into trouble and we have to use him anyway.

    So maddening. Robo umps and level playing field consistency would improve the game so much. It would also help the hitters and offence in the game.

    He is totally lost right now but we have seen him get hot before and smash everything. He needs to get it going but confident he will.

    I watched all of the gm last night and for most of I had this feeling we were not going to win. Probably because I expected we would crush a scrub like Wilson, and the bats struggled. But somehow they pulled it out. Ray has been a miracle for $8mm. Still stuns me OTOH Roark got 2/24. Chatwood looks better right now for leverage than Romano. Hard to believe they have had only 2 gms from their all around best player, and lost so many others to IL, and they are 2 gms over with their schedule so far.

    Could have dealt the death blow there but at least got 3. After that bogus first strike call I can’t blame Tellez for protecting away.

    Has he has a horrible month. 2.5% BB rate and 43 wRC+. Just flailing.

    Rung up by 2 base umps on very bad swings calls last inning. That stung.

    These stories about pitchers hitting are annoying as is the fact that they are. Those first 3 at bats we had sucked.

    Honestly what a stupid MLB LF. Obviously I’ll take it and good on Simien to battle with 2 strikes. But that should be a ground rule double LOL. Nice win Jays. Pumped for tomorrow.

    He looks like the bat they sent down in 2019. He can’t square up in the zone and chases everything away. Hope he can find it. We need him.

    Matz has pitched fine tonight against a tough line up. Wish he would use his fastball more. His off speed just gets destroyed when he gets it up and throws it too often. We need some runs!

    It is so frustrating to watch this team give up extra outs. Alvarez is a beast.
