  1. Article unnecessary because everybody knows relievers are all the board anyway. For example how are Drew Storen or John Axford doing now?
  2. He's 25 and a half....time he got to majors
  3. I think it is terrible what these players did. Not just this 12 but all players who cheated by taking steroids. Broke all those old time records like Hank Aaron or Roger Maris homerun records. Beat the honest athlete out of a job. Cheated the fans and even the front office of some teams.
  4. Wonder if his suspension would be this long if ARod was younger and having a great season for the Yankees?
  5. Jays aren't moving Bautista for prospects, they want to contend next year. So, can't see a trade getting done.
  6. A lot of Yankees..counting ARod and Montero
  7. Why if he is indeed, suspended? Since details aren't released we have no way of knowing how much PEDs helped him
  8. Players prone to giving up too many homeruns generally gets hammered at Rogers. Last thing we need is busts a kid's confidence. Why rush him? Give him a full year in Buffalo to mature his game. Giving up too many homeruns has cut down a lot of careers at Rogers Center.
  9. I meant dWAR. I never use it where he plays on turf. Kawasaki may not be the best answer...but he is near as good as Reyes and 16 million cheaper.
  10. Good to see but if not spent right.... Last 3 years, team who had the best winter never made the playoffs the next year. Red Sox/Miami/Jays
  11. Why the rush on for Stroman? He's giving up a lot of homeruns for Double A. Likely be hammered in homerun hitters park like Rogers. Sounds like he has quite a bit of seasoning to do before he's major league ready. I'd be looking at 2015 spring.
  12. I use RF over fWAR or rWAR where they on turf here. I wanted to show Reyes drop in range this year. fWAR includes things like baserunning which is reflected in WAR overall anyway.
  13. I would try and trade Rasmus while value is high. Where his seasons always been extreme good or extreme bad. He's due for huge raise....Once he gets big contract....high risk Vernon Wells 2.0
  14. Reyes' WAR after 200 PA..........1.3 Kawasaki's WAR after 216 PA....1.1 There isn't much between them. But look at the contracts? On another note...look at a low budget but defensive gem shortstop.... Andrelton Simmons..his WAR after 471 PA...4.2 Most of his WAR is defense. As his dWAR is 3.8. His Range Factor is 4.78. Shows the importance of defense at SS. Far better than Reyes' who is 3.32.
  15. I wish Rasmus could hit home plate...every throw ends up closer to 3b than c
  16. Pastornicky back for Bonifacio?
  17. I agree with you on Gibby. Anthopoulos wouldn't known a good manager! Look at difference Showalter made in Baltimore or Farrell in Boston? Gibby is wrong fit here
  18. You're reading too much into it. What AA is saying don't judge these trades too quick. Why he bought up the Glaus trade was to compare to Miami and Dickey trades. Rolen/Glaus trade looked terrible the first year. Glaus had good year for Cardinals while Rolen was so-so and often injured. But Rolen bounced back the next year and Glaus was virtually done, trade worked out for team in long run. The first year Rolen was here there was a silver lining because that is why they went after Bautista for depth. He never mentioned, I don't know why as it is a good point, Rolen also bought us Encarnacion.
  19. His job is solid....this year not Gibby's fault.
  20. Alex Anthopoulos was on FAN590 Prime Time Sports tonight. A few of his comments: - Cabrera going for MRI, suspect but not confirmed yet torn meniscus. - Asked about Cabrera on waivers, said at times all 25 players will be on waivers. Injured players cannot be on waivers. So Cabrera cannot be on waivers as he is on DL. - Elliott quoted a Bill Walsh book....referring to Jays 2013 season.....saying path of success, road to victory goes thru failure. - When Riccardi was GM, AA pushed hard for Glaus/Rolen trade. Looked bad early on as Glaus had good first year, Rolen was banged up. Following year it turned around. Year Rolen was banged up led to Bautista trade. - Core pieces are staying in place for next year. - Josh Johnson will not be shutdown, at least not immediately. Will continue to work with him thru this. - 100% false rumours that were in media at trade deadline. Wouldn't mention names but said he gets asked about best players all the time. Believes in this core. Not trading his top players for prospects. - He was working on 2 things at deadline, but it never got leaked. Hard to make trades in July involving other teams best players. - Rasmus free agent at end of next year, may wait a little bit before extending him. Compared him to the Encarnacion extension in mid-season of his free agent year. - No question about future of John Gibbons future.
  21. Another year older + 1 less year under control on team friendly contract...value has to be going down with every passing year
  22. isn't much on free agent market this year, and many teams bidding.
  23. Buehrle + Janssen be enough
  24. Deal based around Janssen?
  25. Listening to who may move tonight...put some names together; 3 team trade. Blue Jays - Carlos Martinez, Howie Kendrick, Hank Conger, CJ Wilson, Cory Rasmus Angels - Bautista, Buehrle, Arencibia, Janssen Cardinals - Aybar, Oliver
