    I'm all for speeding up the game but this is stupid. Just stupid, Manfred. Usually when the a team issues an IBB: 1) There are already runners on base 2) The score is close 3) It's late in the game This is the game situation that I'd least want to see sped up. Let me savour the excitement! Also give the play-by-play and colour guys the opportunity to hype up the next pitcher/batter matchup. Are they setting up a double-play? Will they go to the bullpen? Will there be a pinch hitter? What is Ryan Goins batting average with the bases loaded? These things must be discussed!

    I'm impressed by Atkins and Shapiro here. If we end up signing JB or Edwin, we're going to get maximum value on the contract. Alex would have shot his load a long time ago.

    But he was. Ooooops! That was a ticky-tack replay call for an out, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway. Point is he was cocky enough to admire his s*** instead of just running out of the box. It's not like I'm arguing that Baez was a -8 WAR this year, I just said I didn't like him. In a world of subjectivity, this is about as subjective as it gets so I'm thinking it's not worth debating.

    So showboating after your hit, then making an ass out of yourself and hurting your team by getting thrown out at second = playing the game in a slightly different manner Since you're making this it about race and culture, I can also think of these jerky-looking people after about 45 seconds of contemplating: -Joe Maddon -Dave Banister -Ned Yost -Cole Hamels -Derek Jeter -Mark McGwire I'd say I hate maybe 2%-4% of all players. I think that's reasonable.

    I didn't pay much attention to the Cubs until the playoffs, but now that I'm more acquainted with Javy Baez I feel he has a really punch-able face. The way he pimped that s***** homerun (into the Wrigley basket) in game 1 against the Giants was a joke. Then he did the same thing the next game and it wasn't even a homerun and he was thrown out at 2nd. Oooooooh, overall he just looks like such a jerk, I hate him!

    Shouldn't Walker, Gibbons, Atkins, and Sanchez have got together to discuss options before Atkins went out and traded for Lirano, Feldman, and Bolsinger? The fact that they are doing it now either tells me: 1) They're reacting to the media and it's potentially altering their decision making 2) Something has changed over the last week 3) They're just a bunch of procrastinators Not sure which one to hope for.

    I already have him stashed The only other guy who has been picked up is Giolito. I think everyone else is available. I'm reading more on Urias and he's going for surgery on his eye later this month and would come back later in June. Helps with the innings limit and it means he'd be around for the playoffs. I think that might be my guy.

    Who is the best rookie to stash right now for a 14 team redraft? H2H, locked weekly lineups. Scoring system is total points rather than stat categories (i.e. 4 points for a HR, 7 pts for a W, +/-0.5 pts for a K, etc..). Playoffs are weeks 23 thru 25 so would want to be someone who can help all the way to the end. Obvious ones available: Trea Turner AJ Reed Urias Alex Reyes Snell Trea Turner would replace Anthony Rendon. Reed would replace Alex Gordon at Util I guess. Otherwise I'd drop Latos (or Corbin?) probably if it's a pitcher. Thoughts? Thx

    I am thrilled by this trade. Get rid of Phaneuf's cap hit over the next 5 years. The garbage we got back all come off the books after next year and I read that Cowen actually has a negative cap hit if he gets bought out. Lindberg or the 2nd rounder could amount to something semi useful. 2017/18 season, here we come! The Nonis/Burke legacy is close to being undone!

    I don't like Rodney, with his sideways cap and stupid arrow shooting nonsense. He's also emo and a headcase. Tampa was in Toronto a few years back and I was sitting above the Rays bullpen, so I heckled him when he was warming up and he went crying to the security guard to do something about me. Not very focused Rodney!!

    Jonathan Drouin requests trade from Tampa. Wonder what's going on there? Looking forward to a Maple Leafs roster of Reilly, Nylander, Marner, Austin Matthews, Steve Stamkos, Ryan Johansen, and now Drouin next year.
