    This from MLBtraderumours: Seattle has engaged with the Yankees in preliminary talks regarding Brett Gardner, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports. The 32-year-old faded down the stretch, but nevertheless ended the season with a typically productive overall effort. He’s owed $38MM over three years (including a buyout of a 2019 option), which isn’t exactly cheap but is probably below Gardner’s open-market value. Sherman indicates that New York is in search of controllable starters, and says that the M’s have indicated they are willing to discuss lefty James Paxton in trades. It’s not apparent from the report, though, whether he would play any role in talks on Gardner. Would you do Pillar for Paxton??

    I used to believe that but I almost think with all the highlight reel catches he made and teams not seeing him everyday like us, makes me believe the opposite that some teams could actually value him more than what he is worth to this team.

    His value could go up even more as he may have a GoldGlove added to his resume. You have to give up something to get something and the better he looks on paper may drive up his value be a key part of a trade for a Salazar/Carrasco.

    Not only is he going to command alot but to take himself out of that Final game to me shows no heart.....In my mind thats an easy pass.

    No I would not give up both Pompey and Alford. Their choice A major league proven Pillar or Pompey, Hutchison, Controllable (in years) Sanchez, and 2 of Tellez, SRF or Pentecost Thats pretty decent but I'm sure another teams trumps it.

    NO No Stroman. We don't know if in fact it may have been Shapiro that stopped the trade. So now we try again and see what it will take. I say Pillar, or Pompey their choice. Sanchez, Tellez, Hutch. ++ I'm grasping I know but just try. Maybe Dickey + a nice back up catcher thrown in the package LOL

    Agreed: From MLB Rumers Indians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti told Jim Bowden and Jim Duquette on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM (via Twitter) that he will look into trading a starting pitcher in order to improve elsewhere, though it’s not necessarily something that he’d like to do. The Tribe received a lot of interest in their young starters last summer; Carlos Carrasco drew particular attention and Cleveland in fact almost dealt him to the Blue Jays. Man I say we take one more kick at the can to get one of their starters
