I don't mind that Joey and JD are cold. When everyone gets hot at once, they all seem to get cold at once too. It's nice if EE and a few at the bottom of the order are carrying the team now, and by the time they're cooling off, hopefully the meat of the order has started to heat up.
Tex is garbage. He strikes out twice as much as he walks. He isn't hot right now, he wasn't good in the spring, and he was atrocious last year. If you wanna put lefties in high leverage roles, don't treat them like LOOGYs. If Gibby really had the confidence in Loup and Cecil to put them out there (and he should have), he should have trusted them to get Tex out. That's literally my only quarrel with how the last three innings were managed.
Do the Jays ever actually come up in these situations? How many times do they ever actually reclaim their blown leads? Hoping the new season changes things.
If Osuna gets the Jays out of this, I can only imagine the Yankee fans pain. I remember reading several Yankees boards back when the Jays signed Osuna, and they were all under the impression that the Yanks were favorites to get him. I can still remember my glee at how upset they were that the Jays stole him away.
I wanted to say that they should put in Osuna after Loup, just to throw him right into the fire and see what happens, but I guess he'll get the same chance here anyway.
HBP, IBB, HBP, awesome sequence.
