  2. Blyleven is probably a top 10 pitcher of all time.
  3. While I don't think that he'll accrue the statistics that are usually fitting of a hall of famer, if I was voting, I'd put him on my ballot. When I decided that I wanted guys like Bonds in the hall, it was because I accepted that the hall of fame is a museum of baseball history; I think Mark Buehrle belongs in that museum. I don't know if we'll ever see another pitcher like him. Even if he falls slightly short on the numbers, his other incredible achievements really add a weight to the way I look at his career that most other guys don't have. The absolutely incredible levels of consistency he's displayed over such a long period of time, the amount of durability he's shown throughout his career, the fact that he was able to do so much with the limitations that his scouting report might put on him, and him being one of the greatest fielding pitchers in history, I think those factors are enough to nudge him into my hypothetical ballot. I don't think that he'll ever get in, I understand the argument for those that wouldn't induct him, and I would not argue with people that think he doesn't deserve it. That being said, I personally think that he is a very important character in baseball history, and I'd like to see a Mark Buehrle plaque in Cooperstown.
  4. Donaldson with a homer in four straight games now (5 homers, 4 games)
  5. Who the f*** is Scott Copeland, and why do I get an At-Bat alert on my iPad every day, saying they've either called him up or sent him down?
  6. I think I said at the time that I thought the Dickey trade could go down as the worst Jays transaction ever. While I had much higher expectations of d'Arnaud at that point, it can still become that. Even if the trade had completely worked out for the Jays, I never would have been fully satisfied, due to the disdain I have for Dickey. Even though he hasn't been terrible over the past couple of seasons, I've always loathed him, and I still do. I hate his face so much, I hate the sad-donkey expression he gets everytime he gives up a home run, I hate his try-hard use of big words, I hate his soft creepy voice, I hate his rosy pink cheeks, I hate his disheveled mullet, I hate Thole, I hate the knuckleball, I hate EVERYTHING about RA Dickey. Even if he pitched a 4-win season this year, I'd want them to decline his option, just because I don't want to see him anymore. His presence sickens me.
  7. It wasn't sarcasm. You made the WOAT post, got publicly humiliated, and then tried to slowly retract, to where now you think it's been enough time to waive it all off as sarcasm. It hasn't.
  8. Inb4 a defensive error gives them back the lead, and a strikeout from Pillar ends it.
  9. I wonder what % of Pillar's plate appearances have started off 0-2.
  10. Russell Martin started the rumors about Jays players stealing signs from second base, back when he played for the Yankees. The man-in-white stuff was started by the White Sox bullpen, which at the time was yet another reason to loathe such a repulsive ball club. The Orioles started nothing. They just clung on to the rumors like the pitiful bottom-feeders that they are.
  11. Yes. Which is why I laughed last night when Donaldson said he was looking for a curveball from Robertson, saw a fastball out of his hand, and made a last-second adjustment to hit the walkoff homer.
  12. Estrada - 3.90 ERA | Samardzija - 4.28 ERA Estrada > Samardzija. The playoffs will be easy to make.
  13. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/126904188/10-facts-from-josh-donaldsons-big-night "Donaldson's performance against the White Sox made him the first American League player with at least four hits and two homers, the second of which was a walk-off, in a non-extra innings game since current White Sox manager Robin Ventura did so on July 31, 1991." TruStats.
  14. Donaldson gained half a win tonight. Unbelievable. Before game: http://i.gyazo.com/016383588d54bfe5c230b18daca49b42.png After game: http://i.gyazo.com/c6db7e9c5ac1c7fdf310c1b9c863a2ba.png
  15. Don't worry, it's just a decoy. He's trying to fly under the radar until his breakout 2017 Cy Young campaign.
  16. It's disgusting that the Jays are only 3.5 games back. The playoffs will be easy to make.
  17. People saying no to Pompey+ for Gomez, lol.
