Gibby tried to protest tonight's game after the out call on Valencia but the home plate umpire denied it.
Smart call by Gibby to do that and I was wondering why he didn't do it, but he did. #Umpshow took over.
Yes and no. While currently the restriction is there next year at 300 K limit it will not be there the year after. I think this is just planning ahead to ensure you are not limited to the International market for years while at the same time pinching pennies. I know that in baseball you want quantity of prospects because so many end up busting and coming out of no where, but if the Jays felt that the development of the players traded weren't going to improve and still wanted to get the quality of players from the International market in 2 years, then its a good trade.
Dang, that sucks. I am sure he still had a bit in the tank but its always best when players retire while still good than bad (i.e. Brodeur). Probably had one the best underdog stories in the NHL.
Pretty much. I imagine today's lineup and sub in Mushroom and Valencia for Smoak and Carrera. I think Colabello would play 1B and Valencia LF.
Its the best lineup, currently, against LHP. If Gibby leaves out Smoak the next time we face a RHP, then you can get your torches.
I have also been thinking more and it is likely that Navarro may still get more games till the trade deadline, just to try and shop him.
There is a lefty on the mound tomorrow. So I can understand, and even prefer, if Gibby went to Valencia at 1B/DH or something. Nothing wrong in doing that. You find a way to get the lefty masher in the lineup.
