  1. I also forgot to add Jace Peterson (currently 1.2 WAR 2B for Atlanta) + Fried + Dustin Peterson and Smith. Sure, some of these names you may never see again and Jace may fall into obscurity but still a lot of talent given up for a FA in Upton.
  2. I know its minor but I would easily have Pederson over Betts. I know they've both are nearly identical this season in terms of WAR so far but just preference. I would also have Kluber higher but you guys already beat the horse on that.
  3. To a degree hasn't it already happened? - Traded for player with large contract: Kemp | Reyes - Traded away a controllable top end catcher: Grandal | Gomes - Traded away top prospects: Turner | Synder + TDA + Hetch + Handsome Jake etc. - Has provided no value to the team in terms of performance while crippling their cap heading forward: Check All over one offseason too. Its distant memory and AA has made better trades given their history, but ...
  4. To be fair HERPDERP isn't wrong. A rich man's Colabello is someone that can play better defense and doesn't have luck. That sounds like Upton to me. It also sounds like every good OF and Zobrist/Holt as well so he really isn't reaching for a specific target with that statement.
  5. If we are going to speculate, I will speculate that this will not matter. AA has mentioned before many times in radio interviews that his position / safety will not impact the team heading forwarded. Now what he says and believes may be contraction to us on what he does but I doubt this would be a issue. Especially if he is going to make a big move which requires Rogers to approve which they would more than likely to reject. I mean, look at them: https://www.tradingview.com/chart/?symbol=ROG I don't think Rogers wants to be in a position to try and justify whey they've spent millions more on a player. See above. That is bad because? If Bautista and such demand trades the Jays should take a boat load of prospects/players which helps them heading forward. I think this is very short sited thinking and we'll just have to agree to disagree. We'll know in 2 weeks what happens.
  6. Exactly. This is the Phillies we're talking about. They probably want Sanchez with his shiny ERA. Get out of here with a pitcher that strikes players out and has more than one plus pitch. Can this team even afford Hamels heading forward? Probably means that one if not both of Eddy/Bau will be gone unless Rogers decides to open the wallet further for AA which I doubt.
  7. Awe man, not Tellez. Can't we throw in DJ Davis and Goins instead? Its the Phillies, they won't know the difference.
  8. Just some dude speculating? So the Jays have been linked to everyone. Perfect, AA won't do anything this deadline either. Article: http://www.csnphilly.com/baseball-philadelphia-phillies/predicting-major-league-baseball-trade-deadline-jonathan-papelbon-cole-hamels-ben-revere-ryan-howard Snip:
  9. To be fair on Dickey, he wasn't a replacement level player the past years and this year he has just shat the bed. Hard to change one of your "main" rotation guys mid season. Can't recall many teams that drop/replace such a guy. If anyone has a example, shoot it. If AA picks up Dickey's option this offesason then he should be on the list. Everything else, agreed.
  10. http://web.archive.org/web/20150612041334/http://a.pomf.se/ibhwrl.gif
  11. AA has this. Reyes + Navvy for Miller. Please!
  12. Time to pull Archer Yost!
  13. The only thing I got out of that article is that JFaS is a flames fan. All respect has been lost.
  14. Snider has provided 2 WAR over the past 2 seasons, Lincoln provided the Jays with -0.4 WAR. Even looking past that, Snider would fill a void of OF depth for the team. While there is no comparison on the D Lind is also a more consistent hitter than Smoak. Don't get me wrong, I like Smoak and hope he pans out, but I cannot see why Smoak should be over Lind at this time.
  15. I am on the "strongly disapprove" on AA and I agree with what you are saying, but I wouldn't hold the Happ trade against him. I can't fault a GM for a player wanting to run out and train at night and not see a sprinkler. I would hold the Lind trade against him. As good as Estrata has been for the Jays, Lind provides more value. Depth is another issue I hold over AA. Overall good trades: - Donaldson - Travis - Morrow - Wells - Rasmus - Lawrie - Happ (People may argue that we gave up too much, but its looking good in hindsight now) - Villanueva - Delebar - Escobar (for him) - Valencia Terrible trades/players lost: - Hill - Snider - Synder/TDA - Escobar/Hech/Marisnick/Alverez - Jomes/Ailves - Lind If AA hadn't made the two trades, he would probably have been a solid GM. Instead he has increased payroll without providing any further value to the team. Its like flipping a house and AA is the contractor. He is just making this a money pit.
  16. Every team in the start of the season has "playoff aspirations". The only difference is some teams realize that they aren't at some point before the trade deadline. The Jays are in denial and may do something stupid.
  17. Did the ump move his head before Navvy catch that ball? lol, wtf!
  18. Travis: 'f*** you for not voting me into the all star game KC. f*** you infante!"
  19. At which point would the game be called off/rescheduled? I blame fatcow for this.
