    Usually those type of freebies aren't an issue, what I've seen happen in some other places where they like to tax people is go after barter deals that celebrities make. For example, come be a guest of honor for a corporate party that I have here for exchange of a new Lexus. There's a celebrity in Israel being sued for millions by the tax man for those type of deals.

    Why would anyone want Bruce is beyond me, he's maybe average on offense and below average on defense, if his trend continues, he likely gets worse over time.

    Yea, they give themselves 4 days to test it out once it's complete, for projects that size, 4 days is like 20 seconds.

    I still remember when they drafted Schwarber and everyone in the studio were scratching their head as to why take him so high, I guess the Cubs know what they are doing.

    I think he's hoping he could use Goins and Pillar as references for his blog. If either of them catch fire this season, it's all thanks to him now. Right now his blog is built around Donaldson.

    He is 5 years younger than Bautista, just provided a 6.7WAR season, excellent corner outfielder, 30+ homers power and no qualified offer on him and only signed for a 3 years deal. I'm sorry but that's a serious pay cut.

    If he wants to stay he will make it work. Cespedes took a paycut to stay with the Mets after only 3 months there, should be much more compelling for Joey if his comments are genuine.

    4-5 years at 14-15m per seems competitive to me.

    Pillar is more likely to steal bases though. It's more of a question of how much an extra ~.050 OBP is worth it to you vs having a guy who can steal bases, score runs from 2nd on pretty much anything and a guy that slide into home base like superman?

    Mets seem to be talking with Cespedes on a below market contract just because he really wants to play there. So before anyone says "everyone knew" when it comes to Price, you just don't know until you give his agent a shout and see what type of discount (if at all) you will get from him. Since the front office refused to try it we would never know.
