    It's almost like this is new. Sabermetrically-inclined FO with a good framer behind the dish. Playoff teams off the top of my head who employ above-average framers (presenters?): Mets, Cardinals, Dodgers, Cubs, Pirates, Astros (Yankees too), Blue Jays. I'm not too sure how the Rangers' catchers rate in that department.

    This Pirates team is still excellent, they just unfortunately had to go up against Arrieta and Cole wasn't sharp on the other end.

    It was just an all-around weird play. Ball hung in the air for a while, which means that Marte had plenty of time to come in and call off the SS, who had to make a very tough play, Bryant also could have realized this and gone back to the bag.
