  1. Yes, statistically no matter how good the pitcher the third time through the order they are far more likely to get hit hard. Going from Dickey's knuckleball to Price's 96 mph on the corners could be a lethal combination and I'm very much looking forward for this to happen.
  2. You know someone is trolling when they post that Harold Reynolds was enjoyable.
  3. We have to admit it, arguably one of the worst umpires in the league had a fantastic strike zone tonight. He didn't let his ego take over, was consistent for both teams, and aside from one brutal non-call on a balk (which 5 other umpires missed SMH), no egregious calls. Cheers to you, Alfonso, you'll live to see another day.
  4. One lefty reliever is likely the biggest factor here.
  5. Colby Rasmus just hit the roof in Houston. Wow!!
  6. Lorenzo Cain tees off of Keuchel after a 10 pitch battle.
  7. Not just that, deliberately taking out a defender should be at the very least an automatic out, and I would seriously consider an ejection as well. There's breaking up a double play the hard way, which is sliding aggressively into the bag, but what Utley did is completely uncalled for and should not be allowed. Edit: and I do see the concern with even just trying to break up a double play the "clean" way, as Hurl continually argues. The line between what constitutes fair and dirty is pretty thin, and clearly is not enforced. I'm all for not losing star SS or 2B in a play like that.
  8. Welcome to the misery, Mets fans. The Blue Jays and their fans feel your pain.
  9. I'm not okay with that "slide" at all. Utley went straight for Tejada's legs.
  10. Oh my goood that changeup <333
  11. On another hand, Estrada needs to be on a really short leash.
  12. Definitely Price. I don't trust Dickey at all.
  13. SirBJay right about now: http://static.tumblr.com/omq8zsh/qcKlxtg6q/randy_marsh_ectoplasm.jpg
  14. That's simply disgusting. 92 and 91 mph dirty changeups to follow a series of fastballs at 100+.
  15. Came in to post this lol. 101 mph and painting the outside corners, that shouldn't be allowed.
  16. Basketball is a much higher paced sport, and really you only need to know like 4 or 5 of the guys who play the majority of the game. I'm sure 95%+ of the people in yesterday's game were aware of who Donaldson, Bautista and Stroman were. Baseball is also a more complex sport to follow (IMO), there's many people watching who might not understand why a foul ball with two strikes does not mean strike 3, let alone any of the more complicated aspects of the game. Because of the difference in pace, people also tend to find baseball boring, and as such won't put in the required time to understand it.
  17. Wainright absolutely dominating.
  18. The Cardinals making unCardinal-like plays.
  19. I like them or any of the NL teams. I do hope the Astros make it out of the AL if the Jays don't make it. All of the NL teams are very good and very exciting.
  20. Rasmus is on fire.
  21. Is Vasgersian incredibly biased or is this always how he sounds when something exciting happens? I've only ever heard him in MLB the Show and the odd broadcast.
  22. Wtf? Matt Vasgersian just went absolutely nuts following Morales' second homerun.
  23. Chris Young and his 88mph fastballs are destroying the Astros hitters.
