I'd like to nominate jays4life19. I don't think it needs much of an explanation. Active poster, drafted a very good team in LOD, and is a well known polite poster and bro.
I believe what he's saying is that the Mets had pretty much the same rotation last year and this year, save for Syndergaard. Even Zack Wheeler, another fireballer didn't move the needle single handedly as much as Thor did.
"Free"
And duh, $3.9MM is nothing with the cost of a win hovering around 8MM (perhaps conservatively). Smoak doesn't need to be very good to be worth his contract.
He's clearly a basketball fan and probably not a baseball fan at all. Since he genuinely seems to appreciate this city he most likely is a true Raptors fan, but any mention of the Blue Jays is definitely bandwagonning.
I'm actually excited about this deal because Velasquez should get the opportunity to start in Philly.
Am I wrong though? Maybe the Astros don't buy into his durability but scouts seemed to like VV and his numbers as a starter in the MLB rivaled those of McCullers, who(m?) the Astros are much higher on.
Of note: Derozan had perhaps his most efficient game of the season against the best defense in the league. Impressive and clearly he was huge in the win.
The Raptors are such a mind-boggling team. They win/have great games against the Spurs, Hawks, OKC, Warriors, but then struggle against Utah and Denver lol.
