  1. Excellent pitch right there. Liriano has been pretty much as advertised.
  2. Well it's a good thing they recognized that Pat Dean is pitching.
  3. So those first two strikes were pretty bad. Seems like the ump has a shifted strike zone, it better be consistent at least.
  4. Yeah Smoak! For whatever reason he seems a lot better hitting from the right side this year.
  5. The Reds beat the Dodgers 9-2 and then 11-1 in consecutive days, s*** happens.
  6. This is confirmation bias at its finest. Stroman and Happ have continued to be awesome, Liriano has been inconsistent in limited time, Sanchez hasn't been quite as good but that's probably regression, and Dickey is Dickey.
  7. Meh, he just gave up two tough homers to two of the best players of all time, not much Estrada can do there but tip his cap.
  8. I absolutely love Joe Maddon's/the Cubs' strategy of making every player as versatile as possible. It tries to fix the issue of prospects being blocked at some position because an established MLB player is there instead. Of course, not everyone can do it, but to have a guy like Kris Bryant being able to play multiple defensive positions at a high level is just so incredibly useful that it warrants praise. Ben Zobrists all over the field!
  9. I don't believe there's anything wrong with him doing that as long as he doesn't do it after coming to a set position. The only question was whether the balk was called before or during the time out call, and clearly it was the latter. The home plate ump handled it fine, the only thing to get mad about would be the two outside pitches that were called strikes.
  10. The rocking wasn't part of the set position. The balk was because be started rocking after coming set, but time was being called at the moment.
  11. That's 3 big opposite field hits in the inning, gotta love that.
  12. People really underestimate just how bad Ezequiel Carrera really is. He sucks, don't let your vision of him be clouded by a few months of fluky unsustainable play, I understand that Smoak has been on a rampage of suck for some time now but please people, have some common sense before suggesting outrageous ideas.
  13. He literally didn't throw one quality secondary pitch. They forced it and they were killed by it.
  14. He was clearly missing with his changeup, why throw it over your two best pitches?
  15. Way to help out Liriano on defense boys.
  16. We're basically the new Abom.
  17. What Rasmus did goes exactly against the entire premise of the new rule. He slid in with his cleats high in a clear effort to make contact with the fielder. It wasn't even debatable, Rasmus was being an idiot.
