  1. Probably a fair deal, both guys suck, but especially Boxberger. How you got him for anything is a miracle in and of itself.
  2. Again, he's basically a replacement level reliever. Cool if he replicates his 2015 season, which I would say the odds are against that, but more or less an inconsequential signing otherwise. I have no problem with paying a replacement level pitcher a hair over league min as the Rays did here, but nothing to write home about imo.
  3. How could you not be happy? He's pretty much guaranteed a rotation spot now, and will have the likes of Evan Longoria, Matt Duffy and Kevin Kiermaier covering his back. As a co-owner in BORED I'm pretty ecstatic about what this move does towards his fantasy value.
  4. He's literally only had one season above replacement level. He signed for just barely above league min, so that should probably say enough about how teams value him. Okay K rates, not much else going on.
  5. Meh, Shawn Tolleson kind of sucks.
  6. I love everything about that rotation. Honeywell, Faria, Schultz and some other intriguing guys as depth as well.
  7. I love it for the Rays, solid deal for both teams. Dodgers deal from their biggest strength, fill a hole in the process. De Leon's value just spiked in fantasy.
  8. I'd be kind of disappointed if I were a Dodgers fan and the return for Puig was only Forsythe, but then again the former's value might be nearly tanked at this point and the latter is a pretty solid player in his own right. Rays fans (I know, I know) should be ecstatic if they were getting Puig.
  9. This is great news. Now Navarro needs to f*** off and sign elsewhere so my dreams will come true.
  10. Is this even a real question?
  11. It does actually. There's literally this same discussion going on in another thread.
  12. Doesn't seem like Dan Plesac knows what he's doing.
  13. We have to go deeper.
  14. I only remember him because I had a classmate who bought his jersey due to them sharing a last name. Our team went through some really obscure players the 5 years or so prior to making the playoffs. And we've only just talked about outfielders! Brad Wilkerson also comes to mind. Let's not forget the legends of the infield that were Joe Inglett and Mike McCoy. Curtis Thigpen - wasn't ECJF a fan of his? Guys remember when we almost signed contender for ugliest person in baseball, Ronald Belisario?
  15. I forgot Juan Rivera was a real person that played for the Blue Jays.
  16. Chris Colabello Adam Lind Michael Saunders (post-knee injury) Eric Thames Jesus Christ the Jays have sure loved their average hitting, brutal defensive left fielders over the years.
  17. Well Russell Martin was an above average player in 2016 because his framing likely adds over a full win. BJMB: combating pedanticism with pedanticism.
  18. 100% I can play better outfield defense than Chris Colabello. He was beyond awful.
  19. The majority of NBA fans believe Irving to be the best guard in the Eastern Conference because he made a 3 one time while riding LeBron's coattails like every other player has. Most would probably take Irving over Curry, the latter is seen as the biggest choker in history apparently. NBA fans are really stupid.
  20. That's not as bad as it could have been, though Trumbo at his best was still only a 2.2 win outfielder. Unless the Orioles rightfully play him at first where he won't be bleeding as many defensive runs there's still some downside to the deal. They could be paying a 1 win player a tad over $12 million.
  21. In Pompey's defense, Pillar was a lot older.
  22. It's Loor-dess (think "lure dess"), not Lord-ess. The "ou" is the same pronunciation as in French.
  23. Wow Sammy Sosa got destroyed. The voters are so dumb.
  24. You don't like the current blue uniforms? I think they're gorgeous, as are the home whites.
  25. The largest factor in making this deal is 100% Jose Bautista the player versus the remaining free agent options, don't kid yourself. If the deal was about optics they wouldn't have waited until January 2017 to sign Bautista, needless options and incentives aside. Sure maybe they added some fluff so it makes them look better to the public, but this signing is all about how Jose can help the Blue Jays in 2017 and possibly beyond.
