  1. I don't entirely remember who I voted for. Can you PM me who King and I both voted for?
  2. Jays' games viewership is almost certainly substantially higher than any of the programs that she currently appears in.
  3. Would you care to provide context/sources for the claim that Tapia is really stupid? I'd love to see some tidbits.
  4. Already more value than what Trout got traded for.
  5. Kind of reminds me of Osuna in the minors, although that's likely because they're both latinos (is Ortiz also of Mexican heritage?) so the association is more apparent. It's easy to forget because of how much he did to lose all of that weight and get into great shape, but Osuna was really fat and many people expressed concerns over that IIRC. He appears to be at a "salvageable" weight yet, but he will need to start working out soon before he settles into CC Sabathia territory permanently.
  6. I saw that, but he was trying to lift it past the net or something wasn't he? Still, under the circumstances of the game, scoring the tying basket for the opposing team to force the game into overtime is on a different level.
  7. You missed the point completely.
  8. You have to be a special kind of stupid to do what he did lmao.
  9. I thought that was a(n?) European League game, they play the footage on Sportsnet misplays all the time. I agree with you that it's probably as stupid of a play as we've ever seen in sports.
  10. You underestimate my involvement in this league.
  11. I don't know about you, but if I have the chance to acquire the prospect version of Andrelton Simmons (minus the bat control) I do that first and ask questions later.
  12. The blatant disregard for ordering the names by their rank number in this post really bothers me.
  13. Why do gif pages always have the most random names? "CandidSmoggyGermanshorthairedpointer", wtf? There's no way anyone is clicking on a link which contains that in the URL from any other site.
  14. I must've missed the transition from the Dodgers' FO to Dave Stewart and associates.
  15. Looks like BTS made out like a bandit here. Also, there's a random #50 waiver pick just floating at the end.
  16. I was thinking Chris Iannetta, though he went back to being terrible the season after so...
  17. His defensive projection suggests otherwise. The best first baseman last year defensively among those qualified was Mitch Moreland who was worth -3.4 runs when factoring position. I get that Desmond is athletic and generally a good fielder but no way should he be expected to play first better than every 1B in the league in his first opportunity at the position.
  18. On the bright side, it makes me more comfortable to hear that it's a minor league signing. Hey maybe they can get Russ to teach him how to be a better framer, it's unlikely but it has happened before.
  19. I'm under the impression that his framing is garbage, like among the worst in the league. Is this not the reality?
  20. I'm guessing Steamer has Desmond at 1.5 WAR assuming he's playing a position that is not first base, likely CF or SS. No way they would project his defense to be that good at first. Subtract like 10 runs from defensive value at first and suddenly they project the same.
  21. Ugh, welcome back Navarro. Edit: in shape Navarro
  22. Without question? Valbuena's been a better hitter the past three seasons, projects to be a better hitter next season, is the same age, and Desmond needed good defense and baserunning in an elite defensive position to give him value. Put them both at first and while Desmond might be a marginally better defender and much better runner, Valbuena's probably a better hitter to where it might be a lot closer than you might think.
  23. In what universe is Brad Boxberger even remotely keeper worthy? I'm no fan of Broxton but there's no denying that getting an intriguing piece like him for someone who might not get chosen in the waiver draft is a complete steal.
  24. Also, lmao @ the fans' projections of Keon Broxton on fangraphs. They think he's 2015-2016 Odubel Herrera, basically.
