  1. Dan Jinzen might end up as the best catcher in franchise history. In all seriousness his ability to make contact with two strikes is awesome, he rarely swings and misses.
  2. So Jurickson Profar has 2.6 WAR as a super utility man for the Rangers on a .263 BABIP. Still only 25 years old!
  3. So the second start was a lot more promising even if he suffered from many of the same faults as the first one. The strikeouts were there, the fastball looks like an easy plus pitch even when he's not commanding it properly. I'd say the command of his secondaries were his biggest issue on this one, he couldn't consistently place the breaking balls down and the changeup while he threw a few decent ones was often flat and elevated. The fastball command absolutely must get better, but he's shown that it's a good enough pitch where even if he misses spots hitters have a tough time with it. The end result is a decent 4.37 xFIP at Yankee Stadium, with poor command and some bad luck leading to inflated FIP and ERA. Could be a lot worse for his second time in the bigs, the elite reliever potential is alive and well, but we'll be hoping for him to turn it around his next few starts as he gets more experience at the highest level.
  4. Here's Votto: Pretty good that guy.
  5. I wonder what his stats are on first pitch strikes, obviously you'd like to get ahead on him but that's easier said than done when a first pitch fastball could get sent 500 feet.
  6. Great AB from McKinney but I knew as soon as Severino threw him a breaking ball that he'd be done for after fouling off a bunch of 98-99 mph heaters.
  7. Very good inning overall, threw a few decent changeups in there as well.
  8. Lol Pat, "that's a good slider, put that one in a good spot". It was right down the middle, the movement was alright I guess.
  9. Tell that to Dellin Betances.
  10. The Chris Sale Cy Young curse is real.
  11. His stuff would be filthy out of the bullpen.
  12. That's awful Teoscar, what a brutal read.
  13. It was supposed to be a breaking ball down and away but he left it up obviously.
  14. Daniel Jepsen is a stud.
  15. Nasty pitch to put Stanton away.
  16. Bichette is 3 years younger and by all accounts is a legitimate shortstop. I'm excited about Biggio as well but value wise they are several tiers apart.
  17. Trevor Bauer out 4-6 weeks with a fractured fibula. Rip Cy Young candidacy barring Chris Sale blowup.
  18. Because it's fun and takes a couple of minutes? Who took a s*** in your fruit loops dude?
  19. Pretty good choices overall honestly. I think I'd have Joey Gallo among the top 3 power if we're talking strictly raw power, and overall hitter J.D. Martinez over Altuve, although I have a feeling they're going purely off hit tool in which case it's fine. Surprised Michael A. Taylor didn't make either of the baserunning/speed ones in the NL.
  20. Danny Jansen is such a beaut, awesome two-strike approach.
