It feels like McKinney's weakness might be high fastballs and he's been pounded upstairs along with low breaking balls. I wonder if the league will adjust similarly to Tellez since it seems he's getting nothing but offspeed and breaking balls thus far.
Like you know I don't really mind a 50/50 mix or 70/30 depending on which pitch is working on that night. Regardless, he has two elite pitches and when at least one is working he's nasty.
I don't know if it's a confidence thing or whatever, but he's really been bringing the heat as of late, not just usage wise but it's a lot more 98-99 than 96-97 like in his first handful of appearances.
Check out when Kluber made his debut. I'm not saying they're the same at all, but obviously the same FO that found this hidden gem might be capable of finding another solid starter who's devalued heavily due to age and injury.
Reid-Foley has the swing and miss stuff locked down, all he needs is to place it with a bit better consistency. The stuff is ridiculous, the Yankees haven't been able to hit the ball with any sort of comfort.
