  1. The idiot on ESPN just tried to discredit WAR by citing the difference between Lorenzo Cain and Yelich's RBIs. He could have said that defensive stats are bad in small samples and/or unreliable when measuring value, or that Yelich is just that much better of a hitter but no, f***ing runs batted in is why it's a bogus argument that Cain might be just as valuable as Yelich.
  2. Brutal slip by Adolid Garcia rounding third trying to score the tying run for the Cards. He was probably safe if he stays on his feet, feel terrible for him.
  3. Brewers at Cards is a must watch game imo, big implications for both teams.
  4. Way to make a statement Alford! Great catch.
  5. He's allowed to have feelings. No s*** he's not thrilled about his best friend being moved to another team, would you be? As usual, he'll be a total professional and continue to give it his all on the court and lead us to many victories like he has before. He's never even expressed any displeasure with what the org has done from a pure business and basketball perspective, did you listen to his interview yesterday or did you simply read a couple of clickbait reports?
  6. What has Kyle Lowry done to make himself unlikeable? Consistently be the Raps' best player but accept not taking the spotlight? Lowry and Stroman are nothing alike except being black and short for their respective sports.
  7. Yeah but he's aged like fine wine and is still a monster, outlier ISO season notwithstanding.
  8. The music thing or the interview?
  9. Yes to both probably. I'd really like it if deGrom got consideration for the awart but I know that won't happen and would settle with him at least being recognized as the best pitcher in the league, which IMO he clearly has been.
  10. The Mariners crew giving big props to Matt Chapman, really nice to hear for a change. Recognized both how good he is as a fielder and as a hitter as well.
  11. I don't oppose at all to this, but shouldn't the 19th pick go to the runnner-up to the title, since that person isn't trying to purposely tank for a better pick given the stakes?
  12. You're right, and I knew that too. My excitement got the better of me.
  13. Omg having Tim Mayza in a Ryan Stanek type role would be incredible. I love that idea.
  14. Barring injury or an uncharacteristic splurge on the FA market Borucki is definitely beginning the season in the rotation. I can see SRF getting a bit more seasoning, specially if he blows up in his last start, but I'd say he has a good shot to begin the year in the bigs as well.
  15. His velocity has changed though. Both his fastball and his sinker are around 1-2 mph slower than previous seasons, including last year when he first started dealing with the blister issues. However I do believe it's possible/likely that this is a conscious effort on his part to potentially reduce the risk of blister issues further arising or simply lessening the pressure or effort that he puts on those pitches.
  16. Congrats havok, few would be as deserving of a title. Happy for you bro!
  17. Thanks I wasn't aware. You missed the point.
  18. Okay? He's been excellent, but he hasn't been the best pitcher in the American League. The fact that he's 21-5 should have zero bearing on his candidacy for the Cy Young. Would you take Blake Snell over deGrom?
  19. It'd be pretty clear to me that if he wins it's largely due to his W-L record and ERA. Snell has been very good, but doesn't have enough innings and his per inning performance hasn't been as elite as other candidates like Bauer, Sale, Carrasco.
  20. Pat Tabler just said he thinks Blake Snell is the favourite to win the Cy Young. Pitcher winzzzzzz
  21. Yeah but back then no one got strikeouts. Cy Young only reached 200 strikeouts twice for example. When starters were going 300+ innings the K rates were usually less than 5 per 9, with only the truly elite getting a decent number of them.
  22. Ok it's getting a bit out of hand now.
  23. What a play by Pannone! I thought he had no shot there.
  24. Was it Keith Law who he said he couldn't hit premium velocity? Because I'd say Glasnow has that.
  25. Rowdy is having an unforgettable September.
