  1. They essentially kicked in 50 mill since Jay Bruce has $26 million left over two years and he currently projects as barely above replacement level and Swarzak could be alright but he's also a random reliever who could also be a sunk cost at $8M.
  2. They could have gotten way more for Edwin Diaz on his own than Kelenic + Dunn IMO, and some team would have given up something for Cano along with like $50M kicked in. Bruce and Swarzak are sunk costs as well so it's not like they got rid of most of Cano's contract for only the $20M that they gave back. I could see a way where this ends up well for the Mariners since Kelenic and Dunn are interesting but I think they could have done much better than this.
  3. The Mets-Mariners deal is official. Cano + Edwin Diaz + $20M cash for Jay Bruce + Anthony Swarzak + Jarred Kelenic + Justin Dunn + Gerson Bautista Lol M's
  4. That would be one of the worst teams in the league, with only the Orioles being comfortably worse for me.
  5. Jonathan Schoop non-tendered. Would love to pick him up to replace Travis, even if he's a free agent in a year. Could be a Smoak like pickup and potential buy low extension candidate.
  6. This seems like a pretty stupid deal for the White Sox but I guess it means they're comfortable with having Zack Collins for the future. First Mariners deal I've kind of liked for them.
  7. Incredible player, it is what it is.
  8. Missed some crucial open looks. I love OG but he really cost us heavily on some excellent looks.
  9. That Duranr guy is something else.
  10. Probably just a negotiating tactic, they might think they have more leverage if they publicly make certain players appear untouchable or whatever. DiPoto is no Jack Z but I'm not convinced he also is necessarily very good regardless lol.
  11. They're definitely rebuilding if the Paxton trade is any indication. And it makes sense, they're nowhere near Houston, the Yankees, Boston and have a much lower ceiling than Oakland. They were competitive but they weren't an upper tier team in the AL which is very top heavy, they probably hit their ceiling and don't have the prospects to supplement their holes either internally or via trade acquisition.
  12. Osuna didn't really go for noticeably less than what his market value would have been without the domestic violence accusation. We got back a similarly talented reliever with two years of control and two good lottery tickets. Like Boxy said Diaz is also much better.
  13. Lmao why is Jeff McNeil anywhere near this deal? He projects as a 3 WAR 2B at 1/10 the price of Cano.
  14. On the road?
  15. Incredible fourth quarter, now that's a well earned win against a very good team. The defense was superb and the threes were falling, such an outstanding effort.
  16. The Grizzlies are an awful team to play against, they're so good on defense and Conley and Gasol are very crafty on both ends.
  17. Can't wait for everyone (i.e. Toronto media) to twist this into Shatkins ruining the relationship with Donaldson and Chad hometown hero AA swooping in to save the day for the Braves.
  18. I could see Cano being moved for an albatross with a shorter length contract like Tulo (but not actually Tulo) and a decent prospect or two. He's still a very good player. He could earn his contract for the next 2-3 seasons but teams won't be paying prospects for him to break even only.
  19. Calgary Stampeders vs. Ottawa Redblacks. The Roughriders are Saskatchewan's team.
  20. That was ridiculous, sparked a massive run for the Heat.
  21. Hopefully we'll be finished all 30 by next September. Like man I appreciate what they do and how in-depth they go for each org but if they can barely get half of the teams done by Opening Day like last season maybe it's just better to limit it to 20-30 per team.
  22. It's not nearly as obvious as you think. First of all you're getting a sample size of one and a look in slow motion to clearly discern the difference. Second and most importantly, at live speed it'd be extremely difficult to gauge the minimal difference in release point unless he was doing something else to tip the batter off, by the time your brain has processed the lower release point you won't have enough time to make use of that information. Even in slow motion it's difficult to tell where his release point is at. But again, sample size of one.
  23. And that's why you don't want him back, f***.
  24. Nah he needs the rest, give the young guys/G-Leaguers an extended look so they can ease in to the NBA game, maybe give Freddy a few extra minutes since he really needs to find his groove.
