  1. Monster performance from Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Terrence Davis and Chris Boucher. I love that Nurse rode them throughout the second half, their energy on both ends was infectious and the defense was genuinely brilliant. Nice of Pascal to not let his early offensive woes affect his defense. FVV and Norm were immense, especially in the first half when no one else was doing much scoring wise. Huge win.
  2. No lol. A free agent doesn't have a team, Smoak is currently a Blue Jay as much as he is a New York Yankee. Pompey, if he's still on our 40-man roster, would I suppose be the last player that we had on that 2015 currently under the organization.
  3. I'm sure this will be fixed in the future, but it's odd that they think McGuire will have more playing time than Jansen, despite Jansen projected to be the better player lol. Regardless, that catching tandem would be one of the best in the league. The offensive projections on the whole are odd, I would definitely take the over on Biggio and Teoscar - the latter who projects for a wRC+ of 92 despite not dipping below 100 for 3 straight years and being in his prime. I think they're right to be skeptical of Gurriel though I do think he can outperform his projections, along with Bo. Don't really get where they're getting this Tellez love from, or for that matter Drury either.
  4. Norris was the top prospect. Boyd was a high floor 4th/5th starter prospect more than anything, and he's hit that floor and more.
  5. Our last actual ace was David Price in the second half of 2015. Stroman was merely a very good pitcher.
  6. I really think we shouldn't sign Salazar to be a starter. He's pitched like a combined 130 innings in three seasons, had several setbacks this past season IIRC, and the injuries were already piling up from before. If we get him it should be to put him in the bullpen and hope he hasn't lost any stuff from his injuries, he could be excellent there. Fully on board with Ryu, along with Wheeler.
  7. And that's fine, you do the Jaime Garcia deal every time and more often than not you'll come out ahead.
  8. Ace reliever Danny Salazar? Yes please.
  9. Well it's relative. They're the Yankees/Dodgers of the Bundesliga but this is comparatively far less than the other bigger clubs in other leagues.
  10. Actual question, would it not be the case for most players to do worse on the road than at home? I don't know how much that difference would be, perhaps Ryu's is more significant than the average player, but there's a reason why the home team wins something like 55% of the time, so obviously players perform worse on the road/better at home whichever way you want to look at it.
  11. It's been a series of bad results, for a team of Bayern's caliber being 4th in the Bundesliga after 10 matches played would have gotten just about anyone fired. It's harsh because half of the defense is injured but from reading around and talking with J4L19 the fans had been very disgruntled with him for a while.
  12. If we pair him with a lefty masher with some versatility like Howie Kendrick (assuming other big moves are made) then I think that could work out excellently. Thames at like $2-3M could be decent but you have to pair him with a platoon partner, he's unplayable against LHP.
  13. Ryu is always going to be a ticking time bomb but I'd take him at 3/48 in a heartbeat even if he only gives us 300 innings out of it. Odorizzi looks pretty good too, Gardner would be a steal at $8M, and I'd probably take 1 year of Edwin over 2/30 from Abreu. Chris Martin on 2/9 could be very good as well, worst case you went a bit too high on a mediocre reliever.
  14. Don't be so obtuse Bob, Jesus.
  15. I mean for as much as people make fun of Atkins for saying some of the players he acquires he believes have good potential, Anderson is a soon-to-be 32 year old FIP beater with a boring but consistent repertoire so they're not gonna play the idiot card and say they think there's more to him than that. It's a nice boring move to boost the floor of the rotation which I like, but of course it'll only be truly exciting if this move is followed by adding a big name starter later on.
  16. Whoever owns Drummond is getting absurd production. He just had his third 20-20 game of the season already, with a stat line of 25/20/6 with 5 blocks and 3 steals.
  17. Well that didn't take long....
  18. Should have been Co-MVPs with Soto but fully deserved for Stras.
  19. An insane season that should hopefully lead into a crazy offseason.
  20. Crazy series, imagine the road team winning every game.
  21. And an ex-Blue Jay will close out the WS. How about that.
  22. So I guess the Astros just won't be swinging at these middle-middle fastballs.
  23. Ugh how could they? This game is probably far from over.
  24. Nah, let Corbin get the save.
  25. f***ing let him start the 9th, he's dealing.
