    15 of the remaining 16 are against the AL East. I'm betting that 6-10 is the best that could be hoped for but if there's a schedule that's primed for tanking, this is it!

    lol what a silly post, honestly. Even if he was referring to not being called up - so what - he's not ranting and raving, it says that it motivates him, where exactly is the big deal?-

    Ya, that was my biggest surprise - 3 of them in like 33 games or something like that and that's not bad! According to Chris King (@StatsKing), the triple was an easy triple to dead centre. Also...4 consecutive multi-hit games. He also seems to have a pretty decent eye IMO.

    Tellez subsequently hit his third 3B of the season. Line for the day, 2/5 2K 1 3B 1HR 5 RBI. Big man is turning it on.

    Not only the 2 for 3, but his one out was grounding out to first moving the runner from 2nd to 3rd, who then scored on a WP which was the go-ahead run. Splits are slowly increasing. Still looking for the power to be translated to game play but from what Chris King said, the raw power is definitely there as he mashes in BP.

    It's possible, a number of the teams ahead have 1 or 2 games in hand. Of course, that only comes into play should they win I don't think that 4th is out of the question but 4-7 would be great. I too fear a late season run but the saving "grace" is that there still a large number of games against the AL East and that's where they've had the most problems.

    It happens, he seems to have one of these stinkers every once in awhile but otherwise he's nails. I would not be surprised if part of the reason last night was that he was a little ticked off that he's assigned to AFL. He had been planning - and looking forward - to going to Duke in the off-season and his tweet indicated that it was "bitter sweet". If he found out before the game, maybe it affected him a bit - who knows.

    Yeah - umm, kind of think that the problem is a WHOLE lot bigger than just running JPA out there 4 days out of 5...

    Rowdy Tellez has a 3B with an RBI and a run scored in the first inning. Second triple of the year for the big guy. Seems like when he makes contact, that the ball generally goes a long way.

    Slow start for him but Tellez did have 2 RBI today, including one which came from a walk-off single.

    No worries but yeah, a lot of good and bad in 1.2 innings but seeing that in total he has like a dozen pro innings - meh - I'm hoping that his BB/9 comes down below 9 lol

    Kind of a weird comment of yours TBH. He stated that he was feeling good - not necessarily that he was pleased with the results. I'm sure that he's not happy about the BB but I don't think his comments show that he has anything like low standards for himself.

    LB Dantzler is also having a great start to his pro career. BA of .319, OPS of .975 with 7 HR, 24 RBI in his first 33 games.

    So encouraging to see so few Ks. Yeah, I could see that, he always looked so tentative on the mound. I hope that they don't rush his this year, maybe move him up to AA but that's about it. It'd be great for him to have such a successful year. I wonder if we'll see him in 2014, maybe AAA at the beginning of the year and perhaps to the bigs after a few months?

    Days done with 9K, 2ER in 5.2. Don't know much about him other than he's an Army grad that was signed in June as a Free Agent - so I gather that means that he was undrafted, or maybe he didn't need go through the draft (he's 22), not sure how that works. Other than that, I don't much about him.

    Rowley is kicking it again in the GCL, 3 IP and he's K'd 7 already. That gives him 21K, 1BB, 3H and 0ER in his 9IP so far this year lol.

    Definitely so it seems, GO/AO suggests that he's much more of a groundball - put the ball in the play sort of pitcher. Small sample size too - and the guy's still developing, but so far it looks that way.

    Pretty poor K/9 from Robson, but on the other hand, you have to like a total of 11h over 21 IP (and only 4 BB)

    DJ is having a good start of the year with Bluefield, showing some pretty well rounded tools. Pretty intriguing prospect - 5th in the league in SLG and 4th in OPS.

    I hope he can do - I'm not saying he can or he can't - just saying that it's WAY too early to be basing any conclusion on the likelihood, that's all.

    It's no different than saying that Rowley is the next super-stud since he has 6 IP with 14 K. It's great and all but it's an incredible small sample size and these kids are so raw, performance at this level can't be taken as indicative at all. Yeah, he's wild, that's why he's at pretty much the lowest level, he's learning to pitch. Give him a couple of years - at the very least, that's the whole point. A loose comparison on the hitting end would be Dwight Smith who had a really wretched last year and is showing improvement this year. It all goes to back what I said that regardless how well they do or don't do that low, is pretty much completely irrelevant, especially in the case of a pitcher who has only 3 IP as a professional. Just my opinion.

    Honestly, for anyone to be taking ANY numbers from a guy's first year in the GCL as meaning anything (good or bad)...I just don't get it, give the guy a chance to learn how to pitch.
