Maybe, the jury is still out on them. They will obviously go through struggles at points in the season, so by the end of it we will see how they performed. But if this team is really supposed to compete this season, and there's no reason why they shouldn't be with how good the core is, then it would probably make more sense to have veteran players filling these positions. But the situation for these players is different anyway. First of all, Travis is not playing a premium position so it is not as concerning to have a rookie like him in the everyday lineup unlike in center field. Also notice that he was developed in the Tigers organization, and I think his play reflects that so far, since just about every player the Jays develop turns out to be a flop because there is a lack of quality coaching and developmental staff from top to bottom. In regard to the young relievers, they have obviously shown they deserved to make the team, but do you not think it's scary that our best relief pitchers are 20 year old rookies? These aren't guys that we should be going to in high leverage situations. They should be coming in for middle relief to get some innings and get comfortable in the major leagues. They have started very hot, but hitters are going to figure them out soon enough, and then we will have to see if they can adjust and maintain their strong play.
