  1. Christ! 5 of 6 down on strikes. He might only need the one run if he keeps this up.
  2. My heart stopped when the ball left the bat but it was perfectly hit to Reyes.
  3. Well, that f***ing sucked. Bunt for an IF hit to load the bases.
  4. Dickey is now starting the final instead of Happ. Supposedly it's for the "dome effect" on his knuckle ball.
  5. Two weak 3rd strike swings looking like both Reyes and Kawi didn't know what to expect :/ Nasty stuff this kid is throwing.
  6. He seemed to be doing OK even with the injury at least until it became too annoying so I'm assuming their opinion is, in 2-3 weeks it should be healed enough for him, especially as a DH, to play and since he tolerated some pain before, if it does bother him, it won't be as bad and not interfere? Either way good news.
  7. Some good news finally!
  8. I might stick Reimold in the #2 spot for a game just because he's swinging the bat well in his limited appearances as a Jay. Hitting in front of Melky and Joey might get hims some fastballs he can turn into doubles. I think the justification for Kawi in the #2 spot his his eye; fighting off pitches, blooping hits to LF, able to draw a walk, might be why. But ugh. Gibby has to work with what he has. I'd probably move people up and get the bigger bats still left in there rather than trying to make something happen with some of the unproven/black holes. Hopefully someone steps up. At least the AS break is close and it'll give them a chance to regroup, figure out what they can do and hopefully come back fresh and confident.
  9. I'm with you there. I have a feeling, if true, someone else might have been going to Texas too. Glad it didn't happen. Probably mostly speculation and/or rumours. I never understood that "feature" on the old boards or on some other boards that you can't edit a post later and/or after someone replied.
  10. Agreed. If the starter is ready for the show and you want them to get some work in ie like with Marcum in his first Sept call up, and even Drabek. Sanchez isn't ready. At least not right now. But like you said, it's a gong show.
  11. So, now the Jays are acting even more desperate and contemplating promoting more starters in the pen because the Rays have had success with it? Ugh lol Rangers like taking on contracts with injury risks so let's try and send them Santos again
  12. Oh I hope they upload it to the site later so I can watch that
  13. I hope we can catch lightning in a bottle with Johnson if/when they call him up. Maybe he'll get off to a start like Francisco did.
  14. I'd assume the typical 4-6 weeks to heal fully depending on the kind of break. Since he's really only a DH at this point, rarely making an appearance at 1B, he could be back sooner rather than later when he's able to at least jog without too much pain. There has to be some kind of curse on this team. Something has to explain how the Jays are always this injury prone. It seems like something always comes along at the worst possible time. Things like Lawrie getting HBP you really can't protect against, or EE's running down the line and stepping awkwardly causing an injury but damn do these guys seem to be injured every year and always seems to come in bunches.
  15. I guess he's signed by some teams based on reputation or clubhouse presence? I'd say similar to Mark DeRosa but at least he was able to do something.
  16. We could say the same about a number of players on the Jays but then again the Angels are actually trying to compete so it is a bit of a head scratcher that he's on their team when there are younger guys who can out preform him in a backup role.
  17. So, Gibbons pulls Redmond to bring in Loup and then leads Loup in against a tough right hander when he has a right hander in the pen warming up?
  18. Interesting to see how many innings he's thrown up to his age 25 season. Surprised he hasn't had an injury prior, or at least a dead arm. http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/11196146/masahiro-tanaka-new-york-yankees-placed-dl-elbow-inflammation
  19. Come on, Bautista! Seems like he's trying to do too much at the plate and swinging at pitches he wouldn't even think about.
