    Oh f***. I guess being late for an appointment is a good thing so I can see the news but I'm f***ing scared at the cost. (Sorry, I haven't read through the entire thread but have seen Norris is going along with two others). I hope the Jays can either flip him by the August waiver deadline if they're out of it or can sign him to an extension. I don't see AA giving up the farm for a rental especially since he keeps going on about control. The Jays would have time to work out a potential extension but I hope it's a condition of the deal or they can make him an offer (they seem to like giving out $20M/year deals or taking them on which would basically replace MB's contract) that he doesn't reject. With the offense behind him he might think twice especially if the Jays can make a push for the post season and get in. It seems like a desperation move. Maybe when the dust settles it'll make more sense.

    He has to do it when it's late so the other GM is sleepy and agrees to the deal without any details being leaked until they agree.

    It would be nice. I don't want a trade for the sake of a trade or a trade that sends out too many (or even a decent) prospect(s) for a rental or someone crappy. Anything better than what we've been throwing out as a #5 starter would be nice. Someone who can stick for another year or two who can win us games would be OK. I doubt anything significant will come since the prices are high and unless AA pulls another ninja move and gets a player under control for a few more years out of the blue, I don't see anything really happening. Maybe a minor pick up. I hope I'm wrong and the Jays land a nice addition at the deadline but I'm not going to hold my breath or bet on it.

    That's kind of it in a nutshell. They have to get through a tough team, make up ground, win a number in a row before anyone should really get their hopes up. However, with the fans tonight, the big trade, it does kind of make you feel like it a little bit, at least for tonight's game, but reality is there's a lot of ground to be made up in a short period of time. They can't afford to lose many more games especially against those in the division and the WC race.

    Smoak doesn't seem to play enough for that to work as well as it could. Would be nicer if they stuck him in the line up a bit more to take advantage of the defense and get him some consistent ABs.

    I'm sure AA has checked in on him since he checks in on almost everyone, and probably out of curiosity. The only way I see the Jays even contemplating a deal for Price is if it comes with a contract extension as part of it, and I don't see that happening unless the Tigers are in love with the package being offered, Price loves the amount he's getting, or a miracle happens. Probably just the typical "routine" calls being made and such. I won't hold my breath.

    After that I wouldn't mind Dickey getting pissed at DV. At least he didn't fall apart like he has before after an error or something not going right. Maybe they'll let him finish the game, save the pen another night.

    Donaldson never stops does he? All grit, all the time. Never gives up an AB, takes a base there even with a 6 run lead. Just gives you 100% every time out, ever chance he can. Love him.

    Tulo is enjoying his first day of work for the Jays. It's almost insane how deep this line up is when Tulo is leading off.

    I don't see how he can even pitch like that. It looks like he's sliding off/down the mound. From my understanding of the rule, a pitcher's back leg/foot must be in contact with the rubber at all times prior to releasing the ball. If not it's a balk and/or the pitch doesn't count. I didn't read through the thread so I apologize if it's been mentioned before but didn't the Jays have a pitcher who had a problem with that a number of years back (I don't think Chris Michalak) or they were playing someone where his foot would come off right before he released the ball. This looks like a clear violation since it looks like he's 2-3 ft from the rubber before releasing the ball. But like I said I don't know how he can even pitch like that since it looks like he's sliding down the mound as he's going into his delivery.

    That doesn't mean I haven't liked what I've seen. He's done a lot better than I thought and some of those games were amazing but how and will he be able to keep it up for the rest of the year and the next 1-3 years is the question.
