  1. Well, let's hope the Jays get some luck and some runs early on.
  2. This should be a fun game. The Jays need to win the series. It's a month in and they're already 4.5 back. Still early but time to start getting the ball rolling.
  3. He's been unbelievable thus far. 7 homers when his minor league high was I think 16? I'm sure pitchers will adjust and he'll have his struggles like all hitters do, but damn if he keeps it up ROY sure isn't out of the question nor at least Jays MVP. He's been a hell of a surprise.
  4. At a professional level everyone should be held accountable for something that they do wrong. The umps did make some s***** calls but they don't get held accountable for anything. It's easy to see why some players/staff members would confront them especially with how the strike zones were being called. I'd love to know the specifics because if it's just over the top or something the Jays' shouldn't have done then I can't back them, but if it's giving them a piece of their mind because of a s***** series where the zone changed pitch-to-pitch then I can't see it as being too wrong. But like someone mentioned, give the cops a hard time, see what happens. Give the umps a hard time, they'll put the squeeze on the Jays especially since they know they have a lot of young players/pitchers and guys like Bautista who seems to get pissy after every AB where he doesn't hit a homer. Watch it all be something minor that was reported and blown out of proportion.
  5. These are the moves that piss people off who are in the fan base that are more than the causal fan. West might have done a better job than a guy like Francis (he could have done worse), might have given the Jays a RP that gives them some decent innings for once and just gets sold while other, less talented and likely never will see time in the bigs this year, guys remain on the roster. A pair of 20 year olds make the team (even though they were great in ST but we knew they would struggled/get hit hard at some point, everyone does) and then AA just let's guys go for pretty much nothing. Like someone mentioned if it's not money for the international pool it makes no sense. AA will make the waiver claims to build "depth," writing waiver fees, try to slip some guys through who will refuse the assignment or get claimed themselves, rinse and repeat. It could be a sell high kind of thing but if this is selling high I wonder what selling low is? Then he'll panic or blow out someone's arm because the BP depth isn't there.
  6. Nice with EE going the other way. Bad Joey gets tagged out at the plate. Probably shouldn't have sent him with 5 run lead and his shoulder bothering him.
  7. Nice! Runners at the corners. Time to get it going guys! Bautista at 3rd is a gimme run.
  8. Damn. Seems like everything they're hitting is right at someone.
  9. I was at Yankee stadium the day he gave up the two-run game winning homer to the Jays to Dan Johnson of all people. The amount of booing he received that day. Why he's up instead of just using Redmond as the whipping boy (who at least had a decent run last year) is beyond me unless Francis had some out clause.
  10. Norris seems all over the place. Take a deep breath and let your stuff do its job. Let them get themselves out. Don't overcompensate or you're screwed.
  11. Well, this isn't good. A double play would be huge here and that's the understatement of the season so far.
  12. Especially since the was DFA if memory serves correctly where they could have scooped him up on waivers, or signed him after he was released. AA seems to overpay for some guys when he thinks there are more people after them.
  13. OK hope the 2nd inning goes better. Let's hope Norris is effective and has a 1-2-3 inning.
  14. Time for the Jays to get a winning streak started. Win some games outside the division to get the ball rolling.
  15. Like someone mentioned I would have liked to try Morrow as a RP just to let him let it loose like he did last year. Our pen could use the help but he wanted to start and he'd command more money there eventually. SD gave him the chance and we'll see if he winds up on the DL or not or being traded at the deadline if he's putting up decent numbers. I would have liked them to at least have made an offer to CJ but maybe they knew more about him than we did and maybe the injury they had a feeling would be coming. Or maybe he wanted out/they wanted him gone after his words after the deadline without a trade being made. Who knows? Gose for Travis seems to be fairly even right now. Time will tell but it looks like a good move for both teams so far. Happ is off to a great start. I'm sure the larger park has helped. He'd look nice putting up those numbers over some of our starters right now. But what's done is is done. It seems that no matter who the Jays let go, no matter what the circumstances, at least a few go on to have a few good seasons either the next year or a year or so down the road where the Jays could have used the help. It's life. It's baseball. We need the players on the team now to start playing to their level and see where it goes.
