According to Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith, the Blue Jays have "placed multiple calls" about the availability of Angels second baseman Howie Kendrick.
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported in late October that the Angels are likely to trade an infielder this winter for pitching, and Toronto seems like a good match for that type of swap. Kendrick, 31, batted .293/.347/.397 with seven home runs, 75 RBI, 14 stolen bases, and 85 runs scored in 157 games this past year for Anaheim while also playing good defense at second base. The Angels can replace him with Gordon Beckham or Grant Green.
