This is one of those puzzling moves (like DFAing Ty Tice to get Carl Edwards Jr.) that feels lateral at best. I do not really expect Overton to put up better numbers than Murphy, so it's just exposing a guy to waivers for no benefit, at least not one I'm seeing. Overton's numbers at AAA look worse than Murphy's AAA numbers. -

Thornton did his job,but absolutely, 100% should not have been close to being used in that situation. He's up to be used in a blow-out ONLY. I can't imagine Shatkins are happy with that move.
